About this deal

The band had a unique arrangement, as Rod Stewart had signed a separate solo recording contract with the Mercury label shortly before joining the group, which was signed to Warner Bros. The Faces second album gets rave reviews from most critics and fans, but once again I'm apparently in the minority. However, I do like this alot and the personalities of the band shine through, particularly on the "live" tracks. A studio recording of " Maybe I'm Amazed" also appeared as the A-side of a standalone single release in the USA just ahead of the album itself.

Ronnie Wood also began to drift from the group over this period, releasing two solo albums of his own, and appearing as a guest musician on two Rolling Stones albums and joining them on tour in 1975. My money's on Stewart, who whilst recording this album was also on the side crafting his solo masterpiece Every Picture Tells a Story. to a Blind Horse — and its arrival in November 1971 signaled the band's true arrival as a transatlantic success story. A number of partial reunions of the Faces were rumored throughout the 2000s, with various one-off performances involving surviving members occurring.A unique early mix of "Had Me a Real Good Time" appeared as a single ahead of the LP in November 1970, backed with the non-album instrumental "Rear Wheel Skid". Prior to any releases by the new Faces line-up, Wood and McLagan appeared on Stewart's first solo album in 1969, An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down (known as The Rod Stewart Album in the US). This was borne out by the success of the album, which served as the Faces’ first proper foothold in America when it climbed into the top 30 of the Billboard 200, and it also proved to be the band’s most successful album in the UK up to that point.

The band's appeal, in McLagan's eyes, was a natural outgrowth of their unique chemistry — topped off by Stewart, who'd overcome the stage fright that gripped him early in his career to become "a vamp . M (Mint): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. It was also released at the same time in the above form as part of the complete recordings box set 1970-1975: You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything.Nothing entirely essential, but the Faces are seeming more like a group that is just sorta acceptable to have nestled within your collection. The song is enhanced by having Bobby Keyes on sax and Harry Beckett on trumpet in a two-man brass section.
