It’s hard to have those sorts of fears and self-doubt after the person you love makes a huge sacrifice for you, like Gideon did for her.

My heart is happy and I couldn't have asked for a better place to pause their story while we wait for the rest of the series to be released. His answering groan vibrated through me, tightening my nipples and sending goose bumps racing across my skin. After waiting for seven months for the third series to finally come out, I totally regretted that I purchased the book.We knew from the moment Reflected in you was released that there would be more than 3 books in this series (its a shame others are quick to slate Sylvia for that, as most of her fans knew this from early on)! They've both been broken by their pasts and are dealing with untold amounts of external stress and yet with them, their relationship always came first. Yes, there were still many unanswered questions for future books (mostly regarding external plot lines and milestones that Gideon and Eva still have to cross) but there was no relationship cliffhanger! Until the studio makes their official announcement, no further details can be shared, but you can subscribe to Sylvia’s newsletter to stay up-to-date with news about this exciting project! Gideon already suffers cruelly from his horrible past, and now his actions will only compound his angst.

The view of Manhattan showcased through my living room’s floor-to-ceiling windows failed to stir me. Although I think that probably Eva and Gideon’s story could have ended here, there was enough ground laid in this book to have me more than willing to continue with the series and see where it’s going to go. What I mean by the phrase is that in their individual brokenness, they better understand each other and are therefore ideally suited to be exactly what the other needs. I hope we really don’t have to wait too long for the other books, and I do hope there are no more abrupt endings. These started-and-discarded subplots include Gideon being sued (a result of the Bared to You scene I imagine soundtracked by Flight of the Conchords’ “Too Many Dicks on the Dance Floor”), the Russian mob, Megumi’s disappearance, and a sex tape. Day should care more about the quality of her work and the dedication of her readers and less about rushing to get one more book on the shelf.

One of the amazing things about this couple is their mutual devotion ,obsession and captivation with each other especially sexually that leaves no room for anyone else and in this book Eva seems torn /confused. Gideon also needs to continue to work on being transparent and honest, but he wants to and that’s a big step forward. Their relationship still isn't perfect by a long shot but things are better than they ever have been. I believe and I’m sure other fans may agree, the wait for the next two books could be long and that is a major spirit dampener. In this part, the journey of Gideon and Eva’s carry on as they battle their internal fears and hallucinations and thus, stay together at building and sustaining a bond which is full of love, commitment, care and passion.His nightmares now also include Nathan and it’s clear that he does fear Eva’s thoughts and reactions as well (not an unlikely scenario but of everyone, it seems Eva is the least bothered, perhaps because he distanced himself from her and that was all she cared about). While they both had their moments of jealousy and doubt for the most part they are solid and I loved that. Many people thought this would be the final Crossfire book, and once they understood the series is a quintet, questioned whether the story truly necessitated more books.
