About this deal

I think the screws could accommodate this by being a few mm longer but that too can cause issues with a lack of downforce if you don't account for it.

Seems like some sort of shroud for the center fan of the PA120SE would've been a welcome inclusion to make removal of the front fan a viable alternative in the case of RAM clearance issues. Impressive performance is a standout feature of the Peerless Assassin 120 SE, thanks to its six heat pipes that efficiently transfer heat away from the CPU and into the expansive fin array of the heatsink. I test OCCT at 200W to demonstrate a thermally demanding load, but also with a 140W power limit enforced to show how these coolers might perform with a CPU that's easier to cool, like Intel's i5-12600K or AMD's Ryzen 5800X. I have the Peerless Assassin SE120 with fairly tall memory and you can easily mount the fan a little higher so it sits above the memory.

Not sure what's different, but when you tighten the first screw it raised the unattached side slightly, and I tightened the first one only slightly once it caught vs how TR tightened each side. Despite its relative compactness, it confidently tames even the most demanding, overclocked CPUs, maintaining impressively low temperatures even under heavy load.

I don't think it's any higher than the Freezer, but it's a possbile issue with the mounting screws that makes it awkward. I also used them for a few days as my daily drivers to see how the would sound on the PA120 and if they could provide equal or better cooling with less noise. It is by far the best-performing airr I’ve tested, capable of handling 200W+ with Intel’s Core i9-12900K, while running whisper silent, and it absolutely murders its competition in lower TDP workloads. They feature an S-FDB bearing and can make use of PWM signals so you'll be able to run them quietly when needed.

My only nits are with the fan splitter cable, its black not white and the fan brackets are silver not white. With only changing my CPU cooling, I was able to increase every benchmark I've run in both single and multicore. The review here mentions AM5 compatibility but the manufacturer's page doesn't and I don't see it mentioned on a few seller's sites. With its seven heat pipes and ability to handle tough tasks and overclocking, the Phantom Spirit 120 SE is an attractive choice for computer enthusiasts of all ages who want a top-notch cooler without spending a fortune.
