About this deal

IP53 rating indicates the device is protected from small splashes and typical dirt and dust, but not from full immersion or severe dust, sand, or other particles.

POCO will still use MIUI, but it will start rolling out unique features on its devices, and it is likely the UI will be rebranded to POCO UI. The design looks like a supersized version of the metal-encased housing that Samsung went with on the Galaxy S21, but with a few key differences. The Poco M3 is powered by a Snapdragon 662 processor, an octa-core chipset built on an 11nm fabrication process that runs at a max frequency of 2. based on Android 11 out of the box, and there's significantly less bloatware than the standard version of the M3. However, the colours look good and saturated while the focusing speeds are not the best, it is fairly good. Why, therefore, it also appends that with "designed by Poco" beneath we cannot fathom - as if the capitalised large Poco logo wasn't enough? With the Poco M3, you get a Full HD+ display with Widevine L1 certification to watch HD content over OTT platforms which is still a rarity in the segment.

Product Partnerships Limited’s FCA registration number is 626349 and its address is Suite D2 Joseph’s Well, Hanover Walk, Leeds LS3 1AB. The Poco M3 comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which is quick and accurate to unlock the device. The phone is lag-free in daily use, has a striking design, decent cameras, outstanding battery life, and gives you dual-SIM 5G connectivity. As for the fast charging, the 18W is not the fastest as it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes to charge the device completely.

It's worth mentioning the 5G connectivity that's on board here – it's right there in the name of the phone – which adds an extra level of future-proofing to your purchase. Bottom line: The POCO M3 Pro nails the basics: it has powerful hardware that delivers lag-free performance, amazing battery life with 18W fast charging, 5G connectivity, and a design that stands out from other budget devices. You can get some decent photos from this phone, if the light is good and you've got a steady hand, but some of the ones we took tended to be a bit dim in places – at times the HDR seemed to be a bit erratic, but you can always turn it fully on or fully off instead of having it set to auto.

Nowadays, opting for a budget phone doesn't involve as many compromises and trade-offs as it used to, as processors, camera sensors and everything else have improved over time. While it might not be the best in terms of outdoor visibility, the Poco M3’s display is a good one in the budget segment especially considering we get a 1080p screen with HD content streaming support as well as good colours and details. The performance is on par with some of the competitions from Realme, but we did get better performance on the Redmi Note 10 and Micromax In 1 under Rs 12,000. Thankfully, the presence of 6GB RAM is something to appreciate here which means the software can be handled slightly better when compared to other MIUI devices in the segment. That'll cost you extra though, so as always it's a question of which features you want and how much you're prepared to pay to get them.

It's the MediaTek chipset that really gives the Poco M3 Pro 5G away as a budget phone, though as we've said it copes fine with day-to-day tasks.

The device has been tested in a controlled laboratory conditions which meets requirements of Classification IP53 as described by the International Standard IEC 60529. We're glad that it's included here, though at this point only the very cheapest new phones don't have it, so it's not the huge bonus that it used to be. There is the volume rocker just above the fingerprint scanner and to the top, you get an IR blaster, and a 3. POCO is looking to differentiate itself in the budget segment with unique designs, and that's the case with the M3 Pro as well.

Like many budget phones, the Xiaomi Poco M3 Pro 5G offers very good battery life – the combination of less vibrant screens and less powerful hardware means there isn't as much of a draw on the battery, which here has a 5,000mAh capacity.
