Another product that featured in our round-up of the supermarket’s best beauty dupes, our tester said the texture and consistency is strikingly similar to the real thing.

I’ve been using this Lacura’s Snapshot Ready Foundation Primer every weekday for several months now and I don’t seem to have had any issue with my skin breaking out or it causing any problems. In this case, Lacura’s Snapshot Ready Foundation Primer is clearly inspired by the popular Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Other than having a good safety profile and being quite gentle to the skin it has some other advantages too. Aldi’s famous budget friendly skincare range Lacura released a primer, so I decided to give it a go.The stickiness does dry after a couple of minutes so it doesn’t feel uncomfortable on the skin, providing a matte base ready for makeup application. The TL; DR version of HA is that it's a huge polymer (big molecule from repeated subunits) found in the skin that acts as a sponge helping the skin to hold onto water, being plump and elastic. Designed to detoxify and brighten your skin, the mask helps to draw out impurities and refine pores, and this time it’s back with a new formula that contains ingredients like Australian kakadu plum and witch hazel.

It’s the silicones within the primer which give the pore-blurring effect, and it’s rare to find a primer which does offer blurring benefits without having that same slimey texture. A thick, high molecular weight silicone that is usually diluted in another, lighter silicone fluid (like dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane). If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. I was excited to use this Lacura Snapshot Ready Foundation Primer as I purchased it during winter, when my skin tends to dry out and get rough, flaky patches. It is compatible with a bunch of cosmetic oils as well as active ingredients and its specialty is creating emulsions with super high heat and freeze stability (from -25 °C and +50 °C).It is a white powder with a fabulous sheen and a nice skin feel and it is still very popular in decorative cosmetics. One more thing: the water used in cosmetics is purified and deionized (it means that almost all of the mineral ions inside it is removed). The Lacura Snapshot Ready Foundation Primer was packaged in a box and inside was a plastic tube containing 30ml of product. For me to truly accept a product as a dupe, it has to match the quality of the higher end brand, not just have inspired packaging.

Bismuth Oxychloride has been around since the 1950s and it was one of the first synthetic materials to give a pearl-like effect in cosmetic products. There are different grades depending on the molecular weight ranging from very light, volatile, non-residue leaving ones to more substantial, slight residue leaving ones. I only ever use pore blurring primers on my cheeks or nose, and tend to prefer a more hydrating primer on my drier parts of my face, but if you have problematic pores, I personally don’t think the Aldi Lacura Snapshot Ready Foundation Primer will give you the same results as the Smashbox primer. Budget supermarket chain Aldi has become well known for its range of high quality and affordable make-up 'dupes' that won't break the bank.Superb primer - after using the Smashbox one for years switched to this one and saved a fortune and really could not tell a difference between them.
