About this deal

Event Cards can be good for the heroes (no horde moves for a turn) but are usually bad (more than one horde spawns or moves). The third envelope is where things get interesting, as one of the zombie types upgrades, which brings a real challenge to the players. Playable after you unlock everything, but probably won’t get played as often since the surprises are all gone. Despite its potential complexity, the game is highly customisable with multiple difficulty levels that greatly alter the gameplay and add entirely new mechanics - hence all the rulebooks.

Zombie Kidz: Evolution Review - Tabletop Gaming

The missions in Zombie Teenz Evolution range all the way up to feeling very difficult, which can be fun to try to complete if you find yourself with more adults than children around the table. With that in mind, we've outlined the best zombie board games below, to bring a little more mortality to your games night. You move into the colour-coded rooms to deal with zombies and lock the doors to stop more monsters from appearing. Almost every session would have us playing multiple games until we made enough progress to find out what is in the next envelope. If you like the zombie genre but want your tabletop gaming with a bit more meat on its bones, Dawn of the Zeds is the zombie board game for you.Unlike most zombie games, survivors gain experience after defeating zombies, unlocking new abilities as they gain levels. Cooperate with your friends and find the 4 ingredients to prepare the antidote that will change the zombies back to their human form! Where Kidz’ action unfolded in the confines of a besieged school, Teenz widens its scope with a board showing a grid of city streets.

When you reach a numbered circle with an envelope icon, you can open one of the many sealed envelopes that come with the game – and which the rulebook warns you not to open! A lot of the actions and mechanics are similar to Kidz but changed enough to make Teenz a distinct experience. City of Horror is best played with a full group of five or six players, ideally with thick skin and juicy brains. Players track the number of games played, win or lose, via stickers, unlocking envelopes that contain new rules, including special powers for the kids and zombies. If all else fails, use an action card to blow up the armoury, sending other survivors out into the zombie-filled streets. This leads us to the main criticism, which is that the central dice rolling mechanic can feel a bit unfair to some players, and leave them a bit cold when they roll the game into an unwinnable scenario. I therefore strongly advise not allocating players a colour or character that they use every game, as someone could easily feel left behind. By default you’re only allowed to complete one mission per game; I think this is in an effort to extend the duration of the game and the enjoyment. Zombie Dice: Everyone's a zombie in this push-your-luck dice game where you compete to eat the most brains. Furthermore, more rules get added as you go along and I remember one being a little vexing at first.

Zombie Teenz Evolution | Le Scorpion Masqué Zombie Teenz Evolution | Le Scorpion Masqué

A curiously cheerful game about a group of plucky kids caught in an undead uprising, it saw players battle to secure their school against a horde of reanimated corpses. Work together, rid the town of zombies, make the antidote, open envelopes, and watch the game evolve!

While going into detail about any of them would spoil some of the fun, there are new character-specific powers to unlock, companions to meet and ways to hold back the tide of the dead. I love the added depth here that makes the game more interesting without necessarily making it more complicated. It was entertaining in a simplistic way, and while we enjoyed ourselves, there wasn’t really much to it. Zombie Kidz Evolution boasts higher-quality artwork, pumped-up colors, better quality components, and the best gaming experience I’ve ever had with my kids.
