Unlike some other stevias, this does have four grams of the sugar alcohol erythritol in it, which may cause discomfort to people who have easily upset stomachs. I love baking above all, so you'll find many, many baking recipes here, but also everything you need for yourself and your loved ones, no matter their dietary restrictions!
Vanilla Extract– for the pure vanilla flavor use vanilla extract or you can use vanilla essence in the dessert. SweetLeaf Stevia® Sweetener employs proprietary technology that uses only cool, purified water to extract a select blend of glycosides from high-quality stevia leaves. One word of warning: xylitol can have a laxative effect so go easy when you first try it – a slice of cake shouldn't be an issue though. My stevia is not the NOW brand (which takes 2 tsp to equal the sweetness in 1c sugar) but a brand that needs 1-1/2 tsp for a cup of sugar. White Chocolate is gorgeous too - I'd maybe knock off a few % because it's not as 'flavoursome' as the first two - it is very sweet but a bit subtler with the white chocolate flavour. And if you receive anything with a fresh look, you’re one of the first, and we'd love to hear what you think.If you're looking for convenience or are in a bit of a rush, we recommend Torani, Starbucks, and Monin as the best sugar free vanilla syrup brands.
Conversely, monk fruit is a good substitute, adding a slightly fruity aftertaste to your sugar free vanilla syrup. I've used it in my Rich, Delicious and Healthy Coffee Substituteand it can be used to sweeten any beverage. Optimise the natural sweetness of fruit, like dates, by making a purée or syrup and use instead of treacle, golden syrup, maple syrup, agave syrup, rice syrup or honey, all of these are classed as 'free' sugars – the type we are advised to cut back on.The thing I have found when trying a different brand out is that if I don’t like their staples flavours, then their more exotic ones are rarely to my taste either. If you're using these alternatives then strictly speaking your bake is not sugar-free, but you may, depending on which you use, be benefiting from some nutritional advantages like trace vitamins and minerals.
