About this deal
Children are introduced to a variety of scientific ideas in the book, including plate tectonics, volcanoes, earthquakes, and fossils.
The descent into the ground and the ascent back to the surface cover different information, so there’s always something new to read about. everything paleological or archaeological should be the most common denominator: what's the most common artefacts of the era? The Street Beneath My Feet offers children the opportunity to explore their world through a detailed learning experience. Kinderen kunnen toch nog best hard zijn voor spullen (hoe vaak ik niet (half) vermoorde boeken zie in de bibliotheek).B) This book is presented in a child-friendly way because there are lots of illustrations and captions. My son is always fascinated to hear that the minerals he mines in Minecraft are actually based on real life resources! The mechanical/technological/industrial aspects weren't jarringly regular enough to contrast with the heterogeneous substrate that is soil, sand, rock. it's just that a 'typical' (or a sensational but well-documented) Viking burial could have been shown on one side, and then one from any other period of history or region or culture on the far side of the page, ever so slightly above or below the other. Charlotte Guillain lives in Oxfordshire, UK, with her husband and co-author Adam and their two children.
There is a substantial amount of information but not so much as to detract from the contextual nature of the book. In this title that was first introduced as a customizable, personalized print-on-demand product, Rox has a superpower. This book would directly relate to the science concept and would give the teacher an amazing opportunity to integrate reading into the science lesson. We zien fossielen, mooie stenen, wortels, metro, dieren die een holletje hebben, we zien hoe dun sommige lagen van de aarde zijn. The book includes the underground worlds of both urban and rural environments showcasing the differences and similarities between the two.
The illustrations are very detailed and the words just flow across the illustrations without being distracting to the eyes. The book gives lots of overall visuals that I think would be helpful for students to see before they learn about the details. Explore even more of the world with The Skies Above My Eyes (August 2018) and The World Around Me (October 2020), companion books from the Look Closer series. Initially we were interested in the near surface (containing pottery and skeletons), then layers containing underground rivers (marvelling at how creatures can live that far down) and next the different rocks and minerals sections. I think use of a ruler or straight-edge here would have elevated the subject matter and the visuals.
