It's a very honest and candid blow-by-blow account of all the obstacles and stacked odds as well as the joys so-to-speak of the ever after. Although Jen Brister's perspective on motherhood is different from mine, I totally enjoyed her story of the lows and highs of parenting.At first, I thought I was really confused by the premise, because my head was foggy from fever, from chills, from the flu. Coraline is one of the best horror stories for children, as well as a brilliant movie to watch during the Halloween holidays. Overall, even though I was sometimes frustrated as I tried to work through this one, I wound up enjoying it. I absolutely had no idea things would play out the way they did, and it was extremely satisfying to this reader.

She does not hold back at all, about her feelings and the ups and downs of parenting and all that it entails. Their friendship was odd, though, because Laurel would tell stories about things that happened to Daphne and make them her own. During the prologue, the doll floats to a window to the other world after having served its purpose with the last victim. One of these decisions was that Chloe would undergo fertility treatment, and when their twins are conceived, Jen finds herself launched into the role of ‘the other mother’.At the end of the film, Coraline reaches out to help Wybie tell his grandmother what is behind the little door, whose sister was one of the ghost children lost to the Beldam. There are a good number of journal entries from three women and slips in time which make THE OTHER MOTHER a near-historical novel, but I felt frustrated, too.
