You know how I mentioned, in my review of Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, that even the mightiest of box office draws have their fair share of mistakes. People are very uptight, so high priest Imhotep and Anck-su-namun, Pharaoh Seti I's unwilling concubine, must hide their love. The original prologue had Zi Yuan (Zohora) going to Hamunaptra and making a terracotta copy of the Book of the Dead, featuring the puzzle box key from the first film.Universal launches their Dark Universe (again) with a rather mediocre and uninspired remake of The Mummy.

This review might have sucked, as all of my reviews do, but if you're looking for a fun action/adventure film, then this will be a great choice for anyone. DC Comics has more iconic villains than Marvel and some of the most famous characters in MEDIA belong to them. Finally, in 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' (2008) the action moves to China, where for 2,000 years, the ruthless Chinese Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) and his vast army of warriors have been frozen in time, cast in clay, waiting for their moment to rise again. The trailer prominently features the cues "Armada" by Two Steps From Hell and "DNA Reactor" by Pfeifer Broz.

In 2012, The Mummy was released on Blu-ray as part of the Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection box set, which includes a total of nine films from the Universal Classic Monsters series. Back in Cairo, Rick wants to run, but Evie feels (and is) responsible, so she's insistent on sticking around to fix it. Though the title suggests Universal Pictures' 1932 film of the same name, the film actually derives its plot and characters entirely from two 1940s Universal films, The Mummy's Hand and The Mummy's Tomb, with the climax borrowed directly from The Mummy's Ghost.
