About this deal

The complete collection of Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairy poems and illustrations with a stunning new cover. We celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories, traditions and living cultures; and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. If I'm being honest, some of the poems are better than others, but I love the whole concept so much and the art is always five stars in my book. I've already reviewed all the individual publications contained in this book, so I'll keep this review short and sweet and focused more onhte format details herein. My daughter has the earlier version and I purchased the newer version for my niece, as they both adore it.

My daughter and niece not only love the poems and illustrations – but they enjoy copying the drawings. omnibus edition of Spring, Summer, Autumn Flower Fairy Books, dark green covers with bright gilt imprinted design and lettering; clean; owner name in small ink signature top inside front cover; tight copy with 72 color plates facing pages of text, 92 pp. Though first published in the first half of the century, Cicely Mary Barker's original eight volumes were re-launched in 2002 with slightly contemporary jackets, while maintaining their classic artwork. This book has lovely poetry, which at times I struggle with since I am not that much into poetry, but the drawings, colorings, the feel of the book just makes you want more. Both are hardback, with good quality paper and includes the original books: Flower Fairies of the Spring, Flower Fairies of the Summer, Flower Fairies of the Autumn, Flower Fairies of the Winter, Flower Fairies of the Garden, Flower Fairies of the Trees, Flower Fairies of the Wayside and A Flower Fairy Alphabet. Very nice copy though the former child-owner's name remains on "My Page", the rest of her information was erased and the bracelet was removed. Originally this book was published as eight individual books, but now it can be enjoyed in a stunning complete collection that tells the tales of those magical beings found in our gardens, who have come to teach us all about flowers.
