Being more than half a century old myself, and a Chinese born in Malaysia and lived half of my life in Malaysia and half in other parts of the world including China, India, Europe and America, I found myself embracing both my Taoist Chinese cultural roots of love and respect for Nature as well as many diverse cultures and spiritual paths in the West.

The only problem I had was the fact that there were so many characters it was hard to keep them all straight and the fact that at times it was more of a list of hits when there were some great stories that probably could have gone along with that list. Generally, I hate when the hero and heroine aren't together for that much of the story, but in this case, Anastasia's personal journey was so interesting and entertaining on it's own it didn't matter to me at all. I will say that it felt a bit long-winded at times, and I found myself wishing for a little less words. These authors did a great job pulling us into the life story of Anastasia, keeping it intriguing from beginning to end.
