About this deal

Something dropped to the floor with a thud on the other side of the door and I prayed it wasn’t him because I wasn’t up for dealing with an unconscious man on top of everything. the longing, the aching, the undeniable chemistry Rosie and Lucas have for one another had me clutching my chest the entire way through. he’s flirty, funny, compassionate, protective, selfless, gentle (until he’s got you in bed), respectful, hot, gorgeous, yummy, sexy…ok i’m getting carried away. him whispering "dulce de leche" in her ear while she looked at him like 😍🥵 LMAOOOO it's giving the omelette du fromage scene from dexter's lab. it wasn’t trying too hard to be quirky, but instead felt authentic in a way that showcased both MCs personalities.

Her silly, online crush is totally under control--but Lucas's time in New York has an expiration date, and six weeks may not be enough, for either her or her deadline. but its the kind of lighthearted tropetasticness that begins to feel like over-the-top cheesiness if you arent in the mood for it. The blush spread to the tips of my ears, and I thought that if the ground under my feet were to open and swallow me right this moment—something I knew now was not that unlikely—I’d go willingly. Because as much as touching Lucas usually left every cell in my body tingling, I was beginning to understand that touching someone you loved was about much more than just that. Anyway, they sort of strike up a deal where he's going to help her get back into writing romance by showing her that dates can be good and fun (which leads to some deliciously meta moments since this is a romance novel) and of course.

although the phrase ”fuck you silly” actually made me curl my nose up, that almost ruined the whole vibe i can’t lie). Like The Spanish Love Deception before it, The American Roommate Experiment does feel a little slow to start, a bit long overall and is built on a foundation of a series of very particular circumstances coming together in a perfect storm, but that doesn’t stop it from quickly becoming an engaging, romantic joy of a novel with authentic characters and a whole lot of chemistry. as though Elena Armas tried to think of as many popular tropes as possible and threw them into a melting pot to create this book. like Rosie’s “unrequited crush”, for example, but it was pretty clear that Lucas liked her back almost immediately.

the fact that this man convinced the owner of her favorite pizzeria to give him the keys so he could surprise her with a date where they made pizzas there. From the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new STEMinist rom-com in which a scientist is forced to work on a project with her nemesis—with explosive results. the sound of our breathing overpowered the water falling on top of us, and i couldn't stop myself from coming closer, i couldn't stop my hand from rising to her neck, closing around her throat very gently. The jingle I had set for that stupid motivational app I’d downloaded earlier today blared through the apartment for a second time.SWOONS* (I mean there is a scene guys where she needs a hug but she won’t admit it so he pretends to need one bc he misses Taco and i'm like. this is just a personal pet peeve though when it comes to romcom style romances— heroines who are constantly shit out of luck and never know a moment of peace make me wanna gauge my eyeballs out with a spork. Escaping through a window wasn’t an option, either, considering this was a second floor and there was no fire escape. You want them to thrive, to succeed, to accomplish any dream they reach for, but you also want to protect them. Armas does a fantastic job showing her characters' developing feelings and allowing the romantic tension to drive the plot.

you're the only one i want here with me, sharing food with me, and sitting so close i'm having a hard time keeping my hands to myself. He always put other before him and was taken back when Rosie put him first cared about what he wanted I just wanted to wrap him up and keep him safe from the world. After years of devouring HEAs and talking--okay fine, yelling--nonstop about them, she has finally taken the leap and decided to create some of her own. Rosie, meanwhile, is strong, capable and reliable but also shy, vulnerable and filled with self-doubt after making the decision to give up her stable job to pursue her passion instead. You and your hero are two beautiful and oldfashioned sh dumped in the twenty-rst-century dating pond. Both of them finally come to an understanding they should share the apartment, becoming close friends.

Now, she's also the author of International bestseller, Goodreads Awards Winner and soon to be adapted to film The Spanish Love Deception;and instant New York Times, Sunday Times and international bestseller The American Roommate Experiment. he offered, and then, instead of waiting for my answer—Yes please, sir, and can you record it, too, so I can play it for years to come? there was no better reminder that Lucas was fictional than whenever he would laugh at her embarrassing remarks, cause any sane person irl would've run out of there so quickly skfkdsk i feel mean but i said what i said. i have to admit that there were a couple cute moments, which is why this book is getting an extra star. this spin on acquaintances to friends to lovers was done so passionately that it made my heart cry tears of joy.

We whirled and whirled, singing and laughing, perhaps one too many times, because with that last twirl.
