Even though this particular keyboard only takes optical switches, you can still remove and lube these switches and try out other types of optical switches, such as different spring weights or linear vs. I took some of the switches out since it is a hot swappable keyboard (I got the Gateron optical black switches), and they are well constructed. The third mode also needs the switch to be set to On and the combination of keys is Fn + Q (hold it down for 3 seconds). You get in contact with the keys, not with the board, so outside the aesthetic and ‘feel’ realm, you don’t really gain that much with aluminum, but it’s still nice to see that it’s there.

What Tezarre needs to improve is the software because outside the Chinese community, I haven’t yet found anyone being able to use it. The bad news is that the installation wizard is in Chinese (great news for Chinese people, I suppose).Making the switch was a little tough at first because of the macros but so far, I've been adapting pretty well. The keyboard now has arrow keys, something that could have been a deal-breaker for the TK61, and the most important improvement is the extra ways that you can connect to the keyboard. I was hesitant about the micro layout as well as losing my trusty 10key on the side for finance related tasks.The lightest of the available options, the Red switches is a fully linear feel with smooth feel all the way down and a light weight operating force of 45cN. It’s also unfortunate that I can’t create custom macros for this reason and it’s a highlighted feature.
