Recipes: Like many of the other themed cookbooks I have read these are recipes I want to try once in awhile. And some elements go beyond conjecture into clear unspoken worldbuilding fact — Dean, despite comments to the contrary, reads a lot, as he keeps a healthy personal collection of books in his bedroom, separate to the Bunker’s library. The recipes in here aren't complex, super healthy and culinary tour de force, but they are good nonetheless. Or, of course, more importantly, to cater for that blowout Supernatural series finale party where every bite is set to make you squeal or cry from its significance.

But if you're a Supernatural nut like me who is seriously struggling in the kitchen because so many restaurants are closed and you never really learned to de-glaze a pan until now, and you'd really like some recipes that give you nerd-cred as well as a sense of not being a failure in the kitchen. There are also a lot of creative and appealing ideas in here that are begging to be extracted and used for other dishes, especially some of the home-made dips and sauces. Filled with delicious recipes inspired by the hit television series, this cookbook allows fans to experience the world of Supernatural like never before.And I'm already planning to try the fried pickles, Winchester Surprise, Jack's cereal shake (21+) and a slice of pie the night of the series finale. This fannish element, I believe, is key to the book’s success, because while no one who works on Supernatural itself ever half-asses anything, it must be admitted that tie-in books for other franchises can sometimes land more on the miss side of the hit-or-miss spectrum, and not be very valuable pieces for hardcore fans. This book was an excellent love letter to all Supernatural fans who have enjoyed the series throughout the years and wondered about the food the brothers enjoy in their travels.

I’m only giving it four stars though because there is no mention of my mom Ellen Harvelle or The Roadhouse and that is criminal. By making best use of fresh produce and unlocking the versatility of plants, you can create simple and delicious dishes while knowing that your food choices are helping your health and the planet. It’s a true feast for fans, tantalizing more than just the tastebuds and satisfying more than just the stomach.

The Pizza, The Hot Dog, and The Enchilada (I need to go back and watch again because I can't remember that one for some reason. Even if it’s an incidental visual, something not pointed out in the dialogue: the clothes a character chooses to wear, the way they do their hair, how they decorate their room. As well as writing, Tobie has a food range in the works, based on his classical Italian training, and, finally, he has utobia, his own little corner of YouTube. Easy and satisfying, this is naturally healthy food that just happens to be vegan – from adaptations of classic favourites such as banana bread, shepherd’s pie and chocolate brownies, to recipes inspired by Tobie’s travels and clever new ways of using everyday ingredients.And don’t even get me started on how far Dean takes every chance to dress up that comes his way — his cozy, chunky social worker knits compared to Sam’s simple sweaters, or whatever this blazer was. Featuring other recipes inspired by characters and locations and complete with illustrations, recipe modifications, and mouthwatering full-color photos, this cookbook will inspire you to not wait for your next road trip and prepare your own delicious feast. This moment, for me, has always been huge, surrounded by flashing lights, one of the biggest turning points in the show and in the Winchester relationship.
