Scream Blu-ray (United Kingdom)

The default English lossless track is the same as found on the previous release and unlike the picture was a very solid and adept soundtrack. The grading may not have that "wow" factor to it, but the faithfulness to the film's intended color timing is very welcome. Leaning into and growing out of their traditional ‘final girl’, ‘feisty hero’ and, er, ‘cop’ roles, they all bring a fizzing energy that comes from a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of this group of people.anyway – will be launched into franchise and Horror film lore as has the ensemble from the original. Contrast is also occasionally an issue, strangely in mostly moderately lit scenes (as in the bathroom scene with Campbell at school), where things are just slightly mushy.

Ghostface's menacing voice sounds impressively gravelly and of course the screams, slashing and general clatter of all of the attack scenes are extremely well placed around the soundfield. Contrast is pitch-perfect and bright with a brilliant display of primary colors and strong, cleanly-rendered variation in the secondary hues. track that reminds us that we don’t need a fancy new 3D soundtrack to feel part of what’s going on on-screen.
