The Endless were introduced by Neil Gaiman in The Sandman, though one of them was a pre-existing character. Before moving onto the next format, it’s worth noting that the trade paperback collections have gone through multiple editions. The series was picked up by HBO Max for an eight-episode first season in April 2022, but transferred to Netflix in February 2023. Both the prose and comic book versions of The Dream Hunters are here, but the former was so beautifully illustrated that for me, it rendered the comic version unnecessary.

These collect the complete run of The Sandman into ten volumes, grouping stories together for easy reading. Gaiman described the early issues as "awkward", since he, as well as Kieth, Dringenberg, and Busch, had never worked on a regular series before. You don’t need to know anything about this superhero version to understand Neil Gaiman et al’s version.
