Miller also got into hot water for depicting the Persian Xerxes as a merciless conqueror and oppressor and his followers as queer and undesirable, as this was perceived by many as a heavy-handed and highly offensive allegory for Islam threatening Western ideals and values. Ozaki's spirit grants the now- ronin the sword, the only tool capable of slaying the demon lord it had been stolen from.
