About this deal

Part how-to and part manifesto, Let's Talk is Nihal's accessible, anecdotal and invigorating toolkit to having better conversations with anyone, any time. Really readable with interesting contributions from and references to a wide range of experts and conversationalists including Matthew Syed, Johann Hari, Jordan Peterson, a police negotiator, a clinical psychologist, and even Lorraine Kelly! Robbie Williams reveals he once 'slashed his wrists' in a bid to end his life and didn't sleep for 144 HOURS. From ever decreasing face-to-face meetings to echo chambers online, we no longer have the necessary tools to talk to each other.

It reads like an essay, or perhaps a dissertation in 277 pages: introducing the subject, taking the reader through the history of conversation, and then interviews with some 'conversation experts' including a police negotiator, politician in the Northern Ireland peace process, film maker, clinical psychologist and TV chat show host. Brilliant, insightful and a great opportunity to reframe how you talk to people and converse with them as well as most importantly, how you listen. This would be a good point to be honest with yourself and assess whether your interactions with other men are largely transactional and perhaps less meaningful than you might like them to be. Arthanayake stated at the outset that this would be a book written based on his own experience so I was a little wary about how much depth he'd go for.JLS fans go wild as boyband announces new tour dates for summer 2024: 'This just gave me goosebumps! Queen of Halloween dresses up as a PEACOCK with 10-person entourage while her husband rolls up as an EGG. He spoke of his surprise of how few Asian families visit the spots such as the Lake District, given the close proximity to communities in Manchester and Sheffield. As an audiobook format listening to the ‘guests’ and hear their take on how to have good conversations was great but I would’ve like more specific mechanics to learn from.

Even the professional interviews are very superficial, no insight of what sits behind them apart from job title and area of work. A self-declared passion project which reminds a great radio presenter and his audience that we have two ears, should be curious and find common ground with enemies. Welsh secretary David Davies savages Labour-run NHS in the country as 'shambolic' after his father-in-law,. The book has signposted me to some really interesting new media to check out though with some great examples of interesting conversationalists, so it’s worth a read on that aspect!Through skills honed by his career on radio and, ultimately, the beauty of connection shown to him by his mother, Nihal shares with us all how we can become better conversationalists, bridge divides, and become less lonely. Which means not only can we become more effective communicators if we choose but that we should not let those who do not employ them off the hook when there is a better alternative. He is the winner of two Sony Gold Awards, a BBC Radio and Music Award for Interview of the Year and was inducted into the Radio Academy’s Hall of Fame in his 40s. By the end of the introduction, I was already growing to dislike him after constant bragging and ensuring the reader knows how talented and qualified he is at conservation.

Shani Louk's brother reveals 'our whole family crashed' when they saw her being paraded by Hamas 'spitting. Evidence suggests that they are less likely to share open emotional moments with you if the phone is even present. At the end of the story, he 'revealed' that the man in question was Fogle - but Fogle insisted it was a case of mistaken identity and that he had never been to the park in question.I managed to finish the book and I actually like the chapter with negotiator John Sutherland (again, he's the greatest while the rest of the police force is very bad! For those who aren’t aware, Nihal Arthanayake is a Radio DJ for BBC Radio 5 Live and the host of the Headliners podcast. There are still too many men in the world who hold their emotions inside for fear of being told to “man up”. I enjoyed the fact that the author narrated the audiobook himself and it featured snippets of his interviews with some of the interesting people he talks to at work. How pro-Palestine boycott movement is fuelling the fast food high street cancellation sweeping social media.
