Persie thinks she is going to learn to hunt and control the monsters she purges, but she and the whole institute learn ever so much more about both monsters and themselves. But she has no clue where she got these freakish powers because she spent her childhood jumping from home to home in the foster system, and her father left her with nothing more than a cryptic note. She's actually pretty fun and I really like her, she's at that point of crazy where she's more annoyed that Harley got her dress dirty.Perdue Merlin proves that she is more than capable of overcoming the odds, even though Perdue doesn't have any 'normal' magical powers. And of course the story expanded on the other missing persons plot that the readers were previously introduced to.

UPDATE: For anyone interested, I did a little more digging after my mini-rant and found out I can still get the rest of the books through the library. All she knows for sure is that magical kids are missing, and they somehow fit into Katherine Shipton’s grand scheme.She went from foster home to foster home, but got treated very badly in each one, and also in the schools she went to. If you like fantasy series that are set in modern times, you won't be disappointed as long as you are okay with a less sophisticated style of writing! Amy has always taken notice to the handsome Liam Swift, a star in Hollywood who is climbing the social ladder quickly. Honestly as a HP fan I didn't think there'd ever be a character I hated more than Umbridge, but Davin definitely gives her a run for her money!

I found that the author focused on the outer appearance and as with almost all teen novels nowadays they could all be found on runways in real life and the main character has two gorgeous guys vying for her attention. And when students start disappearing soon afterward, much more than just a degree is suddenly at risk. Fortunately, the Smiths, a kind family consisting of George and Angela Smith, plus their daughter, Ryann, adopted her. I’m probably going to back off this series for a bit because I’m kind of sick of that aspect of the story.
