Wembley Park has made a name for itself offering creative light installations in recent years, and this year it's bringing the goods in the form of The Luminaze, a free to visit neon light maze, pitching up just off Olympic Way for a month. You know what it's like — Christmas is over, then mid-January rolls around and it's cold, dark and miserable. Takeaway food trucks offer hot drinks and mince pies along the route, with a food court at the end of the trail selling more substantial refreshments. Discover the dark and mysterious creatures of the night, whose super-sensory powers allow them to live and survive in the shadows, then switch the lens to step into daylight, where the heat of the sun supercharges the secret lives of creatures big and small.

It's another 2km trail, wending through the grounds of the art deco mansion and former Tudor royal palace, and taking about an hour to complete. All the different food trucks were delicious and the illuminated hoops hanging down from the trees were my favourite this year. The team are back at the same venue in early 2024 for a new show, Life, featuring spectacular projections and a soundscape.

The house itself will be bathed in light, and there will be festive food and drink available at the food court, located at the beginning and end of the trail.
