About this deal

As a tie-in to the series, the first volume of the graphic novel was re-released on 28 April 2022 with new cover art featuring Connor and Locke as Nick and Charlie recreating the original illustrated cover, as well as an excerpt of the show's script. When Charlie asks if Nick would date someone who is not a girl, Nick is still unsure, but thinks that maybe he would. After Charlie goes home, Nick’s mother comments that Nick seems to be more himself around Charlie than his other friends.

But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is more interested in Charlie than either of them realised.Drawings show an incident of shoving, slamming against a wall, and being forcibly kissed, with the victim's distress clearly shown.

Charlie is gay, and after facing a lot of bullying when he came out, he has become quite popular at his school. Oseman’s series Heartstopper is considered pivotal in creating change and moving toward acceptance and understanding of young LGBTQ+ relationships. When Charlie falls asleep during a movie, Nick wants to hold his hand, but he cannot yet bring himself to act on his feelings for Charlie. Teens will relate to Nick and Charlie as Heartstopper takes them through the ups and downs of first love while they're also trying to figure themselves and their emotions out. The series was later adapted into the Netflix television series of the same name also written by Oseman and starring Kit Connor and Joe Locke as Nick and Charlie, respectively. Tara Jones, a lesbian and old friend of Nick's who becomes his confidant when he starts to explore his sexuality. Charlie and Nick are at the same school, but they’ve never met … until one day when they’re made to sit together.
