About this deal

That being said, I will also note that this was not my favorite Halloween movie in the franchise, BUT, I still love them all! I didn't feel like the book added much more detail to the story, but it was still an enjoyable read. In the depths of his timeless existence, he knew that the coming year would bear witness to his resurgence, and on that fateful day, he would claim her. I read John’s novel so I could do my best to make sure mine matched his, and I rewatched the original Halloween and the 2018 version, since those films precede Halloween Kills in the current continuity. The “gorgeous new artistic vision” they speak of is further cause for fans to get excited, as this new edition will be illustrated!

I admire and respect Grabowsky for making this ultimate edition and for it being available for fans.Michael's mother tells her own mother about Michael getting into fights at school and wetting the bed for the first time in three years. Like the movie, the novel is probably non-essential to the modern "myth" that the series has created. This might indicate that the novel based those elements on unused concepts or written scenes from the original scripts. Produced under license with Compass International Pictures and with the full cooperation of the original author, Richard Curtis (who penned the original novel under the name Curtis Richards). Only reason I didn’t give it five out of five is due to quite lot of silly grammar mistakes dotted throughout the book.

But the editing on this was so weak that a “three stars, but you have to be a fan” rating sank to two stars. It's not done much today, but novelizations based on feature films used to be pretty popular in the 1970s and '80s.Mother and daughter continue their conversation before it gets interrupted by Michael walking back into the room. Her relationship with Corey is a lot stronger in the novel, where we’re able to see why she acts towards him the way she does. Comatosed for 10 years he is being transported to Smiths Grove, driving down the lonely, secluded, rainy country road. Even the very ending scene of the book, which while in many ways is the very same way the movie ends, hints at something much darker and mysterious, and in tune with the ambiguous nature of the original film.

A very good adaption of the 2018 Halloween flick, obviously not as good as original classic 1978 low-budget one from John Carpenter and Debra Hill that created the modern slasher movie genre establishing its trademark rules, but I enjoyed a lot the recent reboot inspiring this book: a direct sequel to the first Michael Myers film totally ignoring previously released sequels.I saw other reviews saying this, but when I received my copy it said in the front, Freshly edited and final version 2022. We dive headfirst into the four years between the bloodbath ending of KILLS and the reappearance of Michael in ENDS. A place where society dumps its worst nightmares, a 10 year old who killed, cooked and made sandwiches of his families flesh and gave to his school mates.

I wanted to refresh myself on the actors’ portrayal of the characters, as well as the films’ style and pacing. On a whole the level of gore was satisfactory, but it could of pushed the boundaries further to make this more enjoyable to my own taste. I don't think this book is "Short" but I think if 3 or 4 more chapters were added on the aftermath of what happened would be nice.PBL really takes the story and expands on it in a way that will give you a whole new appreciation for the film. The final showdown between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode makes for a fun read and gets us closer to the motivations of Corey Cunningham, the de facto protégé of the maniacal serial killer of Haddonfield. I won't waste time with plot details but I will highlight the wonderfully expansive and extra material this book offers to the mythology of the film and the series as a whole.
