I have since connected the soundbar via the headphone socket of the tv, but it seems to now replicate the awful sound quality of the built in tv speakers. There’s no subwoofer to contend with either, making it the ideal sound system for those determined to avoid clutter. With built in Bluetooth simply connect any Bluetooth device to the Goodmans Soundbar and listen to all your favourite music from any one of your compatible devices. I think the tv must have an issue with its built in soundcard or something for it to sound just as bad from the headphone socket. There are two different sound settings for horizontal and vertical placement, which are selected by holding down the Aspect button on the remote.

At just 500mm wide – or high, depending on how you install it – it’ll take up very little space on your TV stand, and is unlikely to obstruct the set’s remote sensor either. I did Google the problem, and it seems a few people have complained about Goodman soundbars with the same problem. The speakers are hidden behind a black mesh grille, as well as a small light that indicates the unit’s status – like Aspect, there’s no LED readout, which is always disappointing. The supplied remote control isn’t bad at all and features easy to follow colour-coded buttons to correspond to the various inputs available.
