I tossed the book aside, figuring I'd rather listen to someone clipping their fingernails than read another page. Both Sookie as well as likewise Compton have friends, some uncertain, as well as both have the hots for each various other. He even had some great deadpan comedic moments (it can't be easy being a 140 years old vampire trying to date in the 21st century).

Although it was a good book I didn't enjoy it as much as other vampire series I've read like Twilight by Stephenie Meyer or The Morganville Vampire Series by Rachel Caine. Sookie and fellow telepath Barry Horowitz, who met previously in Dallas, learn that multiple bombs have been planted in the hotel by the Fellowship of the Sun.The series is narrted by a young lady named Harper – Connelly who is able to get location of dead bodies after being stuck by lightning and later see their last times through the deceased eyes. And then it turns out later that things in the main relationship between the main characters don't turn out as planned anyway. Dead until Dark which is the first book in the series won the Best Paper-back Mystery Anthony Award in year 2001.

He tries to kill Sookie, but she is strong enough to fight back thanks to having been given Bill's blood. She's so modern though, she likes sex, and gets turned on by all these good looking men throwing themselves at her! Sookie Stackhouse is wise however wonderfully weird as she can read individuals’s minds, that makes her an oddball in her small Louisiana town. After a while I stopped, because from the examples I saw on those shows, forgetting humanity was a good thing. After the experience, Sookie takes some time away from Bill to decide if she really does want to become involved with vampires.I covered my face with my hands and turned back, but I'd certainly seen all there was to see of Sam. As I said, I liked the concept of Sookie, I just couldn't understand her because there wasn't really anything to understand.
