The Palkia, Dialga, Giratina and Arceus are all gold card, but not like the Rayquaza or Pikachu VMAX from previous sets – these look like they are painted, not dipped in gold. There are some pretty useful cards in the bulk of this set, though it is mainly in the Trainer department. This set is a lot bigger than previous holiday sets – this has 159 cards plus 70 Galarian Gallery cards (the fancy ones in the reverse holo slot); whereas Pokemon Go only had 88 including secret rares and Shining Fates had 72 cards plus 120 shiny Secret Vault cards. This was a set that was going to focus on the whole VSTAR thing and feature some remarkable looking Trainer Gallery cards. There are a number of reasons to keep an eye out for the Crown Zenith set, as the finale card list includes a 70-card Galarian Gallery, as well as Radiant Charizard and Radiant Eternatus.

The set’s 70-card “Galarian Gallery” will contain the new Art Rare cards from Japan’s VSTAR Universe— pictured below — including a new Darkrai VSTAR that we haven’t seen revealed yet. The Pokemon TCG is wrapping Gen 8’s Galar and Hisui-themed card expansions with the release of Crown Zenith through the beginning of 2023.
Although November's Silver Tempest will be the twelfth and final Galar era expansion, the TCG is releasing a special Crown Zenith set in North America on January 20, 2023.

Just like all modern Pokémon card releases, the Crown Zenith TCG set will first launch with an Elite Trainer Box, which will be available at retailers starting on January 20, 2023. As if that wasn't enough, the Crown Zenith release also introduces an exquisite Galarian Gallery subset, with 70 cards that showcase stunning illustrations. Each pack will have a special promo card of one of the Galar Starters that are illustrated by newcomer artists, Yuya Oka, DOM, GOSSAN, who recently joined the Pokémon card game during the Evolving Skies and Pokémon Brilliant Stars TCG expansion. It also has an ability that allows you to discard one of their benched Pokemon if they have one prize left.It was to be the pinnacle of the Sword and Shield era, gathering together those last remaining Vs, VMAXs and VSTARs – the promos, the outliers, the somehow missed. Additionally, the January product will include 65 card sleeves featuring Lucario artwork, as well as a Crown Zenith TCG set player's guide. With The Pokémon Company releasing Crown Zenith products throughout May, it's unclear when North America will be getting the new Gen 9 TCG series. It may not seem like much at first, but the counters add up and make it easier for Zacian V and Eevee V to deliver key Knock Outs with their Behemoth Blade and Vee Brave attacks—the former does 260 damage against Pokémon VMAX, and the latter does 160 damage against Pokémon V.
