The Age Collection II features 10 even rarer blends, with superb whiskies ranging from 25-year-old to an astonishing 55-year-old. In 1842, Chivas Brothers were requested to supply provisions to the royal family at Balmoral Castle upon Queen Victoria’s first visit to Scotland. The Strathisla distillery is owned by Chivas Brothers, and Strathisla Single Malt is one of the malt whiskies used within the Royal Salute blend.

That, for us, is just common sense, which means sustainability and responsibility is integral to everything we do. In 2001 Chivas Regal was bought by the Pernod Ricard group but they kept master blender Colin Scott to keep the quality of the blend and exceptional taste. Other releases from the Chivas Regal stable that I have tried include the Chivas Regal 12 yo Blended whisky and the Chivas Regal Extra blended whisky.Royal Salute was launched on 2nd June 1953 as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on her Coronation Day. Older releases have included a 40-year-old bottled in a red Baccarat bottle to mark the Queen’s 40th anniversary, the 50-year-old Coronation Cask, and the 45-year-old Tribute to Honour. Crafting this blend has been the perfect occasion to reflect on the innovative approach we’ve taken to blending whisky for the past 70 years, and a moment to look forward to what can be achieved in years to come.
