Yes, this VMP reissue does sound good, but I'm not sure why you would go with this version when there are so many other superior versions available.

According to World Circuit: "The 2015 vinyl release of Buena Vista Social Club was cut from the original analogue tapes by Bernie Grundman who also mastered the other formats. Buena Vista Social Club' is both the name given to this extraordinary group of musicians and the album, recorded in just seven days in 1996 in Havana's 1950s vintage EGREM studios. Not only did it sell like hotcakes around the World, leading to a US tour and documentary film, but it also raised interest in Cuban music, something that has sustained to this day.

The pressing is flawless and Bernie Grundman has done a fantastic job with the remaster, beautiful quality with an extremely wide soundstage and depth, even plays wonderfully at low volumes. i'm optimistic; i'm quite enjoying the last archival re-release, ibrahim ferrer's remixed/expanded buenos hermanos from last year - just curious! It would be interesting to compare with the earlier pressing, but my ears aren't hearing any obvious sonic issues from groove-cramming for the bonus tracks.I read a comment about someone wishing the photography was high-res glossy but I'm totally cool with the way the pages are; as mentioned. He did the VMP version in 2020 too, but this was probably a digital affair because VMP does not mention it's AAA. Great sense of air and space, you can feel the room of the Recording Studio, almost can measure the distance between the performers. To showcase the popular styles of the time, such as son, bolero and danzón, they recruited a dozen veteran musicians, many of whom had been retired for many years.
