Fate is killed, it feels more like a waste of a potentially fascinating character rather than an emotional moment.
Hailed as the slave who became Champion, the mortal Teth-Adam was bestowed the powers of the gods, transforming into a fearsome superpowered being at the utterance of a single magic word: SHAZAM. I want a good story that makes me actually care about the characters and their fates, and on that front Black Adam fails to deliver. In addition to Johnson, who stars as Teth-Adam/Black Adam, the movie's cast includes Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Pierce Brosnan, Marwan Kenzari, and Sarah Shahi. Based on merchandise descriptions leaked several months ago, McFarlane Toys appears to be in charge of Black Adam’s tie-in collectibles and Sabbac certainly looks like a product of creator Todd McFarlane’s sculptors. To add emotional resonance and give Black Adam a Reason To Be Good, the movie tosses in some non-superhero characters who we will refer to as Generic Mom, Generic Boy and Generic Funny Guy.At the press event, he talked about wanting to launch the beginning of a " long storytelling road" that finds the film and his character driving forward other DCEU content. In one moment, Johnson is handed boxes of his Black Adam action figure for the first time, and his reaction is hilarious. It is also fun to see the star reap the success of his efforts and get his own action figure, like many other superhero actors have. Following the recent release of Black Adam's trailer, featuring Johnson as well as a sneak-peek at the Justice Society of America, fan anticipation for the project has started to increase.

A toy reveal shows that the big threat is none other than Sabbac, portrayed by Old Guard star Marwan Kenzari, whom we suspected since this information first started to leak out. Nearly 5,000 years later, Black Adam is freed from his slumber and finds himself in a world he does not recognize. Black Adam has become the latest front in the never-ending pop culture wars, though I have to admit that whatever culture war ammunition you find in this movie probably says more about you than about the film itself. The upcoming film, based on the popular DC Comics character of the same name, follows its titular anti-hero who finds himself freed almost 5,000 years after receiving powers from the Egyptian gods and being abruptly restrained, only to now unleash his own form of justice on the world.It’s not clear yet how the character or Kenzari fit into the film but considering the figure’s measurements and that Sabbac can grow to a colossal size and breathe fire, it is highly likely the demon man turns into a daikaiju that Black Adam and the Justice Society have to take down. None of these movies are ever bold enough to let the bad guy win in the end, so it’s all wrapped up nice and tidy. Sure, it’s not one of DC’s most original villainous origins, but it provides a neat parallel between the villain and Shazam! The skeletal warriors, however, are completely useless, easily taken down by a rabble of town-folk who Generic Boy rallies to fight using the same symbol as the boy champion from 5,000 years ago (because most modern societies totally cling to 5,000 year-old traditions!
Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the powers of the ancient gods – and imprisoned just as quickly – Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world. He takes out tons of mercenaries and then battles against the Justice Society and then fights more mercenaries and then fights the Justice Society again and finally, in the very end, faces the powerful demon king villain in a fight that can only go one way. Alongside the images of the action figure is also a small piece of art showing what appears to be Sabbac as he appears in the movie. Hot Toys are thrilled to introduce the new collectible figure from the DX series, the Black Adam Sixth Scale Figure featuring Black Adam based on the movie of the same title. Upon seeing the global reaction to the trailer, he took to social media to thank the fans for their support and touched on his passion for Black Adam, iterating that the movie was 10 years in the making.First Look at main villain Sabbac in ‘Black Adam’ revealed with the merchandising of the film,” GabiMG_News tweeted on Friday with accompanying images. And with demonic horns and a pentagram scratched into his chest, there’s no mistaking which side of good or evil this guy is on. His and Hawkman’s friendship is something we learn a bit about through exposition, but is fundamentally too shallow for us to really care about.
Kenzari’s character and final form possibly draw inspiration from this version created by Judd Winick and Todd Raney that fought The Outsiders. Fate has some very cool powers (both the visual effects and what he can do with his predictive powers) but we barely scratch the surface. Because comic book material is so beloved by fans, Dwayne Johnson's attachment to the story of Black Adam and desire to make something for them should serve as a very promising sign. When other superheroes go to stop Black Adam because he’s too powerful for the world, you know they won’t be able to unless he intentionally gives up.With Johnson's recent praise of co-stars like Pierce Brosnan and the film's trailer dropping, excitement is mounting and it will not be long Black Adam hits theaters this fall. Judging by what actually transpires in the film, I think the answer to that question is an obvious “No.
