Eren is our protag, Mikasa is a loyal friend/love interest, and a coterie of friends and rivals exist to push Eren and "make him be stronger" or whatever. Volumes 6-10 of Attack on Titan, covering the female Titan saga is another awesome chapter of this amazing series. Attack on Titan takes place in a world where man-eating monsters know as Titan roam the earth, and what remains of the human race live behind the 50m walls that most Titans cannot penetrate. In 2014, I checked out the first volume of the manga from my local library, curious to see how "fun" it might be.An intense, hardcore sci-fi dystopian world that has been invaded by humanity's "natural enemy", the Titans. From there, we follow a young boy named Eren, his adopted sister of sorts named Misaka, and more as they begin training to fight back against these creatures and encounter all of the devastating twists and turns in their battle for the fate of humanity.

There’s no point in the entire series where they don’t look unnerving (especially if Isayama depicts them moving about). The unique ability possessed by the Colossal Titan appears to be significant control over the amounts of steam emitted by the Titan form.

I went into this series expecting a straightforward, action-packed monster movie type of story like Jurassic Park or Godzilla, and it does start out that way to be perfectly fair. One thing that bothered me was how so much of this compilation is dedicated to flashbacks to military training, breaking the flow of the narrative right after the introduction of the Levi character, after the successful attempt at plugging a whole in the Wall.
