The high refresh rate and very low lag were excellent, and it’s marginally faster than the 24G2U in terms of response times. I mostly sit in the FPS mode but they all add their own colour and screen tune for the best experience. MBR mode was again limited unfortunately and hampered a bit by the wide gamut backlight and some inflexibility in control. There’s a sacrifice here to achieve the decent response times and smooth motion at the higher refresh rates, which means that it’s not a screen that’s well suited to lower refresh rates.

The bottom bezel is a fair bit thicker, as is the case with most monitors, with a grey AOC logo in the middle and two red edges along the bottom in a clean satin red. There are settings from 1 – 20 available which progressively make the “on” period of the strobe shorter, and is designed to help improve the motion clarity as you go. average (3% deviance) which was good, but the white point was 17% too cool at 7609k [ detailed report]. We also measure the post-calibration contrast ratio in case that has been impacted during the corrections. The IPS panel offers the kind of solid all-round performance you’d expect from this technology with good colours, a stable image and wide viewing angles.In practice you can see some smearing of black, especially on darker coloured backgrounds although it did not look too severe to be honest as the response times were not super-slow. This does leave slightly more space between images on adjacent monitors, and while it is not something I have found to bother me much, it’s worth mentioning. Response times were very good overall thanks to the fast TN Film panel and an area this panel performed well. With a 144Hz frame rate, 1ms response time and QHD 1440p resolution it’s the full package and there are few monitors I would rather use every day.Or for ease, you could just stick with TF 80 for everything which is still fine at the upper end, just not quite as sharp.
