The RPM80 Pro allows for both MTL and DTL vaping by including two different pod options (RPM and RGC) and multiple coil heads – similar to the SMOK Nord we reviewed recently. One of these pods, the RGC (Real Game Changer) is a new design by SMOK, with a focus on adjustable airflow.Coil life was great, no complaints at all. I got around two weeks of life, with moderate – heavy vaping. There is a standard version of the RPM80, but I opted for the Pro purely because I prefer external battery devices and this is the only real difference between the two. The standard RPM80 has an internal 3000mAh battery, while the Pro version requires the use of an external 18650 battery. Our only complaint — and you knew it was coming — the battery life. Even with an integrated cell more than twice as capable as the RPM40, we still only averaged 2-3 hours per charge before having to plug in. And this was under moderate power. When cranked to the 80-watt maximum, there wasn’t much life to be had after an hour or so. Equipped with the brand new IQ-80 chipset, the SMOK RPM80 Pod Mod has upgraded many of the components from the original RPM Series pioneer. Keeping the pods from the original RPM, the SMOK RPM80 Pod Kit maintains compatibility with older coils and pods. SMOK RPM80 Coils This sub ohm coil boasts a conical mesh structure, meaning e-liquid is heated at a faster rate than standard coils, resulting in enhanced flavour and cloud production. With a 0.17 Ohm coil resistance, these replacement coils are suited to high VG e-liquids of 60% and above for optimum results.

Finally, in a nice touch, the USB charge port is located at the bottom of the mod, but forward-facing, so you don’t have to lay your device on its side, potentially causing flooding and leaks. It’s the little things that count, and SMOK really nailed the design here. Vaping the SMOK RPM80These replacement vape coils are designed for sub-ohm vaping. They require more vaping experience to use safely, and extra care should be taken when using a sub ohm tank. These coils will only work on a mod capable of firing sub ohm atomisers.
