Sunscreen is one of the best anti-aging products we can invest in, and making sure we’re getting the proper protection is key. ✅Suitable for most scenarios I’ve reviewed a bunch of sunscreens over the past couple of weeks, and these filters are quite frankly very impressive. Scinic is one of those brands that I have always wanted to try but never really got around to trying. Korean Skincare can be such a rabbit hole. When you want to try new brands, that’s when your holy grail brands release exciting new products. The competition is quite literally insane.
For something so potent, the texture is surprisingly not heavy. It won't be as light as the previous 3 sunscreens, but it still feels comfortable on the skin with no white cast, so it will work for all skin tones. Tinosorb M is an interesting filter in that it reflects and absorbs both UVA and UVB rays. Like all other next-gen filters, it’s photostable and can even help stabilize other ingredients. It also doesn’t get absorbed into the skin, but it can leave a white cast similar to physical filters. Ethylhexyl Triazone, aka Uvinul T 150, another new generation sunscreen agent with super-high UVB protection Confession: I don't like mineral sunscreens. 99% of them leave a horrible white cast and/or have a weird pasty texture. They're also drying and prone to pilling. And I get that these are some of the shortcomings of working with physical UV filters, but it's just not a pleasant application experience. They offer much stronger UVA protection, which is critical for preventing not only skin cancer, but fine lines, dark spots, and collagen breakdown – i.e. photoaging. All we have in the US is Avobenzone (notoriously unstable) and Zinc Oxide (hello 👻).

Can stabilize Avobenzone and works well with Ensulizole Purito was one of the sunscreens caught up in the Korean sunscreen scandal, but this new version has proven its excellent protection levels. It’s definitely better suited for dry skin types or those that like a super shiny finish. They are incredibly photostable, which means they don’t lose their protection factor when exposed to UV rays (I’m looking at you Avobenzone!). Independently tested with only SPF30 but PA++++/PFA 23.8. This used to be my WFH sunscreen since I don’t need the SPF but still want high UVA protection, plus it’s super affordable. It also has a less dewy finish so it’s even more oily-skin-friendly, but it’s now really hard to find :/ La Roche-Posay is the next oiliest and it definitely feels that way on the skin as well, but that’s the trade off for the stronger protection.You’ll almost always find other beneficial ingredients asides from the sunscreen filters with Korean Sunscreens. This generally contributes to the cosmetic elegance of these products. It also gives you even more reason to buy into them. For instance, this sunscreen is formulated with; The only non-Korean sunscreen on the list, but its multiple iterations have been tested both by dermatologists and skincare enthusiasts alike, passing with flying colors each time. I've used this for years now, and its unmatched protection makes this forever my #1 holy grail sunscreen. The UV filters are just fantastic, and it includes 3 L'Oréal exclusive filters that protect against the entire spectrum of UV rays! Though it’s not intended as an extreme outdoor sunscreen because it’s not water-resistant, I would still feel confident wearing this outdoors if I’m just doing normal/non-sweat breaking activities! ❓Product claims are questionable
