The Happy Meter is a meter in the status screen. It is measured in points (up to 100), visually represented by 18 colored bars. Baby, child and teen characters can only fill the bar halfway (45 points), while adults can fill it entirely. How full the meter is determines how the Tamagotchi moves on screen and interacts with the user, as well as influencing child and teen evolutions. From the second generation onward, it has a small influence on what genetics are inherited. The Tamagotchi Smart shares some features with the Tamagotchi Pix, a mainline Tamagotchi that had released the same year outside of Japan.

Gift: The user can gift food, items, accessories, rooms, minigames, and locations to the other user The ability to have food, items, and accessories delivered to the Tamagotchi's home by phone application. Dance♪Session (Dream): The Tamagotchi will in a dance class with Miraitchi, Clulutchi, and Mr. Micchi. A thought bubble showing a left or right arrow will appear and the user must press A (left) or B (right) button in time to match the arrow's direction. As the game advances, two arrows will appear meaning the user must press a button twice. Visit: The Tamagotchi will visit the other's house and they will play with each other for a short time. The Tamagotchi Meets App and Tamagotchi On App are special tie-in apps. This was done so that characters who wear their bow on the top right of their head like Hello Kitty does (such as Mametchi) will always have the bow in the correct position. Name Replacement: The Tamagotchi's or user's name may have one or two letters replaced by random letters or symbols. The glitch occurs after a reset or Tamagotchi's death and it's unknown what causes it. Certain foods will also change the Tamagotchi's body color if eaten three times. These colors include yellow, red, blue, white, pink purple, and grey. Dream Match (Dream): The Tamagotchi will be standing in front of 15 flowers which will briefly show what's behind them (7 pairs of Dream School characters and 1 Spacytchi). The flowers will hide their contents again and the user must select the flowers hiding characters with matching designs while avoiding Spacytchi which will end the game.
