About this deal

Over the decades, many films have been made about the legendary Robin Hood, who stole from the rich to give to the poor. One of the most successful of these was completed in 1991 and starred Kevin Costner, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. To dismiss this film is folly. Sure, Costner’s attempt at a British accent is laughable. The rushed production leaves the cinematography a decidedly rough and inconsistent affair at best. But it is fun—damn fun!"

Robin takes an arrow from his quiver and fires an arrow toward a tree. It splits an arrow in two which was already embedded in the tree. Arrow's 1080 version of this film looks great, this version arguably ups the quality ante at least a little both in terms of fine detail and palette For every movie fan there are probably several films they can count as milestones, movies that became big parts of our viewing, even of our lives. Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was one of those for me. It came out at the perfect time, when I was 10. The screenplay had simple heroism, the villain was an obvious baddie you could boo and hiss at if the mood took you, there was plenty of action and even as a cut PG, it stretched the edges of its certification to a point that was an intense and sometimes scary experience for a relatively young kid. I loved it. Along with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves became one of my first favourite movies. It was one of the reasons we first got a TV for the house, and a VCR to go with it, and it became a tape that was in heavy rotation. version, things start to warm up considerably once Robin gets to Sherwood Forest, and the 4K UHD's accounting of the lush greenery and sometimes

curmudgeonly critic types. It's easy to see why the film resonated so strongly with so many, as it's a good, old fashioned adventure yarn with a Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves comes with a great 2160p UHD 4K transfer with Dolby Vision HDR from Arrow Video. This new transfer ignites the impressive visuals once again some thirty years later. It starts with Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street on 11/17 in both Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD (a UK only title, but it’s already been released here in the States on both formats by Paramount). Also coming that day are Quentin Dupieux’s Incredible But True (2022) and Robert Wise’s Audrey Rose (1977), each on Blu-ray only. The former is a UK only title, while the latter will be released in the US, UK, and Canada. The summer of 1991 was a lousy one for movies; there were only a few that stood out amid dozens of crummy releases. The only movies that summer that I admired were 'Terminator 2,''Thelma & Louise,' and this one, which still stands as one of the most entertaining action-adventure movies I've seen.
