About this deal

This wears well. It is not a stand out, this is like wearing a soft cozy sweater that is really comfortable and pillow soft.

As an expansion of her brand and an entrance into the fragrance market this was a smart, strategic and dependable move for SJP. the fragrance on its own is good, but nothing too special. It has many applications due to its safety, office friendly, not juvenile or overly mature, not too sweet or heavy, subtle and inexpensive. something to sell well far and wide. Parker later released a flanker to the Lovely pillar fragrance, entitled Lovely Sheer. Created by the same perfumers who worked on the original fragrance (Gavarry and le Guernec), Lovely Sheer has notes of mandarin, bergamot, orange flower absolute, gardenia water, pink pepper, blonde woods, vetiver, musk and amber. [10] These are different, but there is a similar DNA in the drydowns. BL is a much lighter wearing experience, and more fruity-floral forward, while Lovely (OG) has the prominent lavender note. As they dry down, however they become more and more similar. Lovely (OG) outperforms. I really Admire Sarah and I have to put it to her the way she creates her fragrances she works closely with the perfumers and know what she likes. I know the oils and perfumes she used to mix before making Lovely smelled more like her 2016 release Stash (one of the best perfumes PERIOD) and that she wanted a unisex type of smell and Lovely is a bit more polite than what she usually would dose herself in, but this to me is completely unisex. As I said it smells like clean warm salty skin with that cosy musk vibe that I think anyone can pull off if they wish to. Actually, after googling this - she has several different variations of this dress which have become somewhat a "signature" for her.In Search of 'The Perfect Scent' ". All Things Considered. NPR. Smells absolutely "Lovely" as it's perfectly named. a b Burr, Chandler (October 16, 2005). "One Nosy Dame". The New York Times. Archived from the original on April 16, 2018 . According to Sarah, the perfume is appropriate for all generations: "from 17 to 107." The fragrance was created by Laurent Le Guernec and Clement Gavarry in 2005 with Sarah herself being the creative director, actively participating in the process from its start to finish. Immediately after spraying it on my arm, I thought it was horrible. And, I mean, HORRIBLE. It was a sharp, bitter smell. I coughed, and then held my nose. I did notice that the atomizer sprayed steadily and evenly. That was of little consolation, however, as my next thought was, it's a shame that a horrible concoction is now evenly coated on my arm. My bottle is, most likely, an earlier one -- older, yet stored in darkness and proper temperatures. (My mom included this bottle in a box of scents she no longer used and decided to give to me to appreciate -- as she knows how much I love perfume -- and she bought it when the fragrance first came out. So, my best guess is that the juice in the bottle I sprayed on my skin hails from the mid-to-late aughts.) This in contrary is not a mainstream celebrity fume. Amazing blend of musk, lavender and patchouli! Orchid and martini accord just makes this perfection even more perfect. This is more of a linear perfume, it doesn't transition or morph into different fragrance notes during the transitions from first spray to final dry down. The benefit of linear, this is a great fragrance for layering other perfumes that need just a little bit of oomph - or the added note of musk.I have certainly smelled Lovely countless times on women over the past 15 years, so it has an inset familiarity to me. First spritz is very floral, honestly like a rose even though that’s not listed in the notes, with a splash of citrus. It doesn’t smell super distinctly like any one fruit to me though. The lavender is more of the dryer-sheet variety than dried-herb, certainly nothing barbershop, and quite subtle for being a major note here. Then it dries down into a wonderful resinous musk. I don’t get a ton of woodiness or even the patchouli. But, I’ve read that Lovely is very dependent on your skin chemistry and nose—some say it’s linear which hasn’t been my experience at all, some say it’s masculine, etc. This doesn’t project far, but is smellable to others in close range. It lasts through the workday. Lovely is a 2005 perfume released by Sarah Jessica Parker. Parker’s first fragrance, Lovely is a light floral musk based on a blend Parker had made for herself. The perfume’s formal development was the subject of a 2008 book by New York Times perfume critic Chandler Burr called The Perfect Scent: A Year Behind the Scenes of the Perfume Industry in Paris and New York.
