In testing, my Evernote content came through with almost no perceptible problems. Tags, titles, images, audio files all transferred smoothly. If you're coming from Evernote or OneNote, Notion's layout is one of the bigger hurdles to get over. In those other two apps, you can see three things at once: 1) a notebook, 2) a list of all the notes in that notebook, and 3) the contents of a note. All three of these apps use slightly different names for all these pieces, but to generalize it, we can say that the hierarchy is: 1) folder, 2) list of files in that folder, and 3) file contents. Choose to make a table, and Notion automatically decides that you should have three rows and three columns. It fills in the headers with sample fields and names. You have to undo this work just to make the table the way you want to make it. The same thing happens with boards. Notion makes four columns and names them, regardless of what you had in mind. You can change all these things, sure, but why can't you just make the notes and tables and boards you wanted from the get-go?Wish you could use a tool that does it all? That’s what Notion aims to be. Notion users love this platform because it’s flexible and gives them the power to build anything they want. Where other work management tools let you choose from a breadth of templates and project styles, Notion gives you the ability to build what you need from the ground up. It even has powerful templates if that’s your thing. In Notion, you can't see all three at once. Instead, you get one left rail that shows your Workspaces (the equivalent of a folder or notebook). When you expand a folder in that rail, you don't see a list of files. Instead, you see options for how to view the files, but only views you have created. I don't know why those options aren't in the menu bar. There's so little in the menu bar that it makes standard help/search tool in the menu bar worthless.
