Milia bumps (i.e., small cysts called milk spots) can appear on the face when dead skin cells are not properly exfoliated off the skin’s surface. When dead skin gets trapped under new skin, it can harden, and form a milium (i.e., a milk spot). When trapped, dead skin cells can form cysts just below the surface of your skin, causing milia.
Face. The face can handle slightly more intense treatments than around the eyes, but you still don’t want to overdo it. Unless you have particularly tough skin, we recommend leave-on treatments with ingredients like retinol, AHA, or BHA, rather than grainy, exfoliating scrubs. Milia spots might be unpleasant to look at, but they pose zero health concerns, and aren’t a symptom of a serious underlying skin problem. If milia spots are bothering you, try at-home products first and give them a chance to work for a month or two. How to Get Rid of Milia
The main ingredient here is gluconolactone, which is used at a 4% concentration. Also known as polyhydroxy acid or PHA, this ingredient has a mild exfoliating effect.
