Miele has many excellent vacuum cleaners, but this isn’t one of them. It may be cheap but it’s plagued by problems normally associated with vacuums from yesteryear.

If there’s a downside to this brand’s vacuum cleaners, it’s the price. While we think Miele’s best vacuums provide excellent value for money, they aren’t cheap! The performance and build quality justify the price though. As you can probably tell, we’re big fans of this Miele bagless cleaner – but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. It’s an expensive cylinder vacuum, so it’s not for people on a tight budget. It also doesn’t come with the Comfort handle controls found on the Miele CX1 Comfort, which is a shame. Anything Else You Should Know?

The Triflex series doesn’t revolutionise the cordless vacuum market, but there’s no doubt it provides excellent cleaning performance. Our research found that it performs well on both carpets and hard floors, while the handheld mode is useful for car interiors or stairs. Like most Miele bagged vacuums, the C3 Comfort comes with an AirClean Filter to prevent dust from escaping. This isn’t as effective as the company’s HEPA AirClean filter found in the C3 Allergy, but for people who don’t have allergies, it’s still a great choice. What’s more is – Miele vacuum cleaners apparently undergo numerous laboratory tests to ensure they last a lifetime. For instance, Miele tests floor heads for over 600 miles over all kinds of floors. Motors are also subjected to 1,000 hours of usage. The body of Miele vacuum cleaners is also tested rigorously. So, if you’re looking for a powerful all-round cylinder vacuum and you don’t have pets, then the Miele Complete C3 Comfort PowerLine is one of the best cylinder vacuum cleaners. It provides excellent suction, has a wide cleaning radius, and is available for a very reasonable price. However, if you have pets, then we recommend the C3 Cat & Dog. There’s no vacuum cleaning task you can’t do with the Miele Classic C1, and you’re assured the 20+ years of service. You may have to bear with some higher noise levels when using high-power settings; however, that’s a sacrifice you can make given the great price.

Some people have found the vacuum cleaner to be a bit loud. This holds for higher power settings. This is completely understandable in my own opinion. At normal operation, the Miele Classic C1 produces 79dB which is equal to the noise generated by a dishwasher. You should know that lower-power settings are adequate to handle regular cleaning so noise shouldn’t be a problem most of the time Setting yourself a budget will really help you to narrow down your search. It can also help you to avoid the slippery slope of buying a really expensive product that perhaps had advanced specifications that you didn’t need or couldn’t actually afford. It’s also important to have a good idea of your expectations in terms of quality too. You may not actually be looking for the best quality product if your main goal is to get cheap Vacuum cleaners. So spend some time considering what’s important to you and think about the areas that you’d be happy to compromise or not. Switch the floor head into hard floor mode and it scoots around on parquet and laminates, although we found the brush design tended to catch deeper tile gaps and grooves in floorboards. Even so, if you’re looking for a high-quality Miele pet vacuum then we think the Complete C3 is an excellent option. It’s powerful, easy to use and relatively inexpensive for a model of this quality – making it one of the best cleaners available at the moment. Miele claims these bags allow vacuuming for up to 20% longer than a comparably sized normal bag before they need to be replaced.
