Unlike the chemical fermentation, during the sprouting process the natural enzymes are formed inside the grain, ensuring the natural fermentation. This process, unique for the alcohol production, gives the Mamont vodka its special mild taste. No, Stalinskaya is not inspired by Joseph Stalin. Actually, both names were inspired by stal, the Russian word for steel. The term denotes strength. The Romanian vodka is distilled from top grade wheat using a proprietary three step distillation process. According to the company, it is then “filtered through birch charcoal and silver ions for smoothness and exceptional clarity.” Mamont vodka really is smoothness personified. To truly appreciate its smoothness we recommend placing your bottle in the freezer for a few hours and pouring yourself a shot in between dinner courses, to cleanse your palate. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Mamont Vodka is a six-time distilled Russian vodka made at the Itkul distillery in the Altai region of Siberia from locally grown, malted, white winter wheat. The vodka is flavored with the addition of some cedar nut spirit, and is then filtered through silver birch charcoal. The bottle is shaped like a mammoth tusk. Georgian Bay Spirit Vodka needs no introduction. It has already been selected as the Best Vodka at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The eye-catching bottle of Mamont vodka is inspired by the Yukagir Mammoth, with the bottle taking the shape of the mammoth’s distinctive tusks. So before we’ve even tried this vodka, we’re already big fans of the bottle Mamont have produced – we’ve never seen anything quite like it.

Traditionally, vodka is drunk from glasses that can hold 100 grams, i.e., 10 cl and in Russia known as «stopka» or «sto gram». Crystal-clear Mamont is like no other vodka. As a special touch, cedar nuts are added as they used to be eaten by the mammoths who roamed the area. Sublimely Autumnal; earthy sweet soft clods of steamy cooked vegetal aromas laced with rich velvety asparagus, agave and white pepper. Konstantin Platonov, a wealthy Russian scientist from St. Petersburg, founded the distillery together with Gregoriy Badyn, a merchant of the second guild.
