Personally, my only complaint about this book — and the only thing truly keeping me from giving it a full five stars — is the fact that the male protagonist voice still reads as a female, as it is coming from a female author. I never looked at people the same way. I never looked at nature the same way. I never looked at my future the same way. Everything went from having a meaning, a purpose, and a reason, to simply being a second-rate version of what life was supposed to be like. My once effervescent world was suddenly a blurred, gray, colorless photocopy. Age Rating: The age rating for the Hopeless series is generally for mature adults aged 17 and over. But I LOVE the emphasis on Les in Losing Hope. We learn so much about how Holder struggled with Les’s suicide. It felt like its own story rather than the same story from a different point of view.
