About this deal

Mr. Kaminskiy is a co-founder and managing partner of Deep Knowledge Group - a consortium of commercial and non-profit organizations active on many fronts in the realm of DeepTech and Frontier Technologies (AI, Longevity, Precision Medicine, FinTech, GovTech, InvestTech), ranging from scientific research to investment, entrepreneurship, analytics, policy and philanthropy. Cameron Diaz wrote The Body Book to help educate young women about how their bodies function, empowering them to make better-informed choices about their health and encouraging them to look beyond the latest health trends to understand their bodies at the cellular level. She interviewed doctors, scientists, nutritionists, and a host of other experts, and shared what she’d learned—and what she wished she’d known twenty years earlier. As our cells continually divide and copy their genetic information, the risk of imperfect copying increases. More cellular divisions with age provide more opportunities for errors to occur. Those errors can result in mutations that allow cancerous cells to develop and flourish." (p 101) Muscles can still get stronger as we age...Building muscle is the best way to offset one of the other losses that comes with age: bone loss." (pp. 143 - 144) I have to say, once again I was pleasantly surprised by a Cameron Diaz book. Obviously she didn't write and research this entirely herself, but she did still put in a lot of effort. The tone is very conversational and accessible. Most importantly for this particular book is that Diaz has found a true niche, which is rare in this age of the internet.

What Howard—unlike most doctors, Howard insists you call him “Howard”, which turns out to be important—did was ask me a simple question: What are you optimizing for? And I didn’t have a good answer to that simple question. As a runner, skier, and biker, and someone who fancied himself fit and yet was perpetually injured, I think I thought I was optimizing to run, ski, and bike.Right now I’m reading sentence-by-sentence an utterly fascinating memoir that I’ll talk about early next week after I’m done reading it. His book covers his working theory of aging based on discoveries in his lab. He also discusses why aging is such a terrible disease and rebuts common ethical arguments against ending aging (“But overpopulation!”). Sinclair also breaks down his own life-extension regimen (yes, he takes resveratrol). The best longevity books for 2021 Named one of Time‘s 100 most influential people in the world, Sinclair runs his own research lab at Harvard Medical School where he studies the biological processes of aging and, more importantly, possible interventions to reverse them. He came to prominence initially for his research into the molecule resveratrol (found in red wine) but has since extended his remit to everything from stem cells to fasting.

Dr. Nir Barzilai on How to Age Later | Lifespan.io

She discusses the social and psychological impact of growing older as well as biological statistics and biological scientific facts and explanations on why and how we age and what can go wrong and what to watch out for. She gives great tips all along the way to stay healthy. The Blue Zones, Second Edition: 9 Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who’ve Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner: A sensation when the research first came out in National Geographic in 2005, and the subject of dozens of fad diets and followup research studies (including, arguably, James Clement’s Supercentenarian Research Study mentioned above), the Blue Zones hypothesis has since come under some criticism but is nonetheless interesting.
