I used to use this to spot conceal my angry spots and cysts. I’d apply a small dab straight onto the centre of the spot and blend it out with a clean finger or sponge. If a spot was particularly prominent, I would sometimes have to go in with a second layer — but after doubling up, the redness would always be gone. I love it so much, in fact, that I’d call it my single biggest makeup favourite of all time. If I could have one product to my name, it’d be this! Collection claim that their Lasting Perfection Concealer is a ‘lightweight, second-skin matte concealer a smooth, crease-free soft base’ and I would say they’re being perfectly legit. No sales fluff here, gals and guys — this is the real deal!

This multi-use, stretchy concealer goes a long way. With its high coverage this creamy concealer is perfect for dark under-eye circles, and has a delicious sweet vanilla and berry scent. And this is me with my finished makeup. The concealer is the only thing I used for coverage, before following with Collection’s pressed powder in translucent.
Okay, my under eyes do look a little cakey here — but that was down to me applying too much powder to dry skin, not the concealer. For the coverage this concealer offers, combined with how creamy and blendable the formula is, I honestly don’t believe there’s a better concealer on the market. In fact, I’d call it the best concealer for acne in the UK. And that comes from someone who had cystic acne for 10 years — I’m a good concealer tester, let me tell you! A high coverage stretchable concealer, comfortable on skin and doubles as an eyeshadow base. The creamy texture blends smoothly with a natural finish, covering any unwanted blemishes.

As I said earlier, if I was confined to one makeup product for the rest of my life (god help me, let’s hope that doesn’t happen), it’d be this. Shade 6 Cashew– For light skin tones with a golden neutral undertone. [Previously named 1A Cool Fair] There’s now a fair shade range catering to numerous skin tones and undertones, which I’m sure will grow even more with time. Here’s what’s available: But this used to do the job perfectly. Once blended out (gently) with a small sponge, you couldn’t see any transition between the concealer and my bare skin. I’d then just set over where I’d applied concealer very lightly with a translucent powder. It was such a relief to find something that meant I could hide my spots, but keep my real skin shining through.Shade 8 Beige– For light to medium skin tones with a yellow undertone. [Previously named 1B, Warm Fair] Apparently, this concealer can last a solid 16 hours of wear. I can’t say I’ve ever timed the number of hours I’ve worn this specifically, but it has seen me through many drunken late nights out in my time! With that said, I personally don’t think makeup helped or hindered my acne. I tried going without it for three weeks (as an experiment) and my skin didn’t improve or get any worse. I’ve also never noticed any correlation between where I put this concealer and where I put spots — for example, I usually put some on my chin and between my eyebrows, but rarely get spots there.

During these changes, no change was made to the shade colouring of our original shades, the only change is the shade name/code and introduction of new shades. To find your perfect match, please refer to the images and list of shade. If you’re looking for something affordable but with amazing coverage, this is your jam. I’ve seriously struggled with my skin but hid it from practically everyone I knew for years — which, if you’ve read my blog, was totally not the right decision. But regardless of that story, it did an amazing job at covering up my red, swollen, cystic acne. Shade 10 Buttermilk - For medium skin tones with a yellow undertone. Previously named 3, Warm Medium So yeah, as you can tell — I bloody love it. In my opinion — and with price and performance in mind — this is hands down the best concealer for acne. Let me explain why this product deserves its cult status: It’s definitely long-lasting, and I could easily go a whole day (say, 8 am to 8 pm) without touching up and still feeling content with the state of my face. As with most makeup products, it does show some signs of wear after a whole day of wear — it creases a little under the eyes and redness slowly starts to peak through — but compared to others I’ve tried, it’s still a winner.Collection have recently revamped this concealer, so I thought there was no better time to write a review. Does it still top my list of drugstore concealers? To sculpt and contour, use a concealer 1-4 shades lighter than your skin tone to highlight, & another 1-4 shades darker to contour. Apply lighter shade down the nose, under the eye and centre of the forehead to illuminate. Use the darker shade to add dimension to your face, contouring your cheekbones, jawline and hairline I bought Shade 5 Fair, Shade 10 Buttermilk and Shade 8 Beige. Before the new release, I had a routine of mixing Shade 5 (previously shade Fair) and Shade 10 (previously Warm Medium) together. It seemed to create the perfect yellowy-pale tone for my skin! And the new version? In all honesty, the formula doesn’t seem to have changed (and I’m damn well pleased about it). It still covers redness instantly, neutralises my under eye circles and works its magic on even the angriest of spots!
