I adore the dry down of Kouros. I love how everything comes together in the base like an orchestra, and it’s almost on the divine level. The reality is I am enjoying more and more the fragrance to the point of feeling it is a bit addictive. Not sure how other people will react but this is totally OFF when compared to todays fragrances, making it more of a signature scent than anything else to me. It´s not a polite fragrance, neither sweety or politically correct. It´s nasty, polarizing, sexy and VERY "sporty" masculine. The brand employed a Nose that was not good enough to do the reformulation, yet had no qualms selling it to the public. This is a work of high perfumery that you owe it to yourself as a perfume fan to experience. Do not be put off by these reports of it being animalic or dated or pissy, like I was for years. This absolutely lives up to the hype.

Performance is good, and funnily enough, on the same level as almost every modern designer out there. The recent trend of wearing subtle fragrances in the working environment has caught up with the old Kouros as well. I guess it's worth reminding yourself that no one has ever received a compliment going like: "Wow, you smell so clean, familiar and neutral!" Yes, Kouros has a strong character, but that's what makes it a good fragrance and sets it apart from today's mainstream fragrances. I respect that this is unique and bold. I can detect a hint of carnation, oakmoss, honey, and leather under this eucalyptus and cat pee smell which I assume is the civet. I don’t know civet, is this what it’s normally like? Following the evolution, that's where I could see the resemblance to his father Kouros, that filthy content, with sweaty skin after sex, only here much more restrained and tolerable, without a shadow of a doubt. Patchouli reminds you of that characteristic smell of fresh urine and Ginger reminds you of a bug wing ripped off. Even so, I fell in love! Hehehehe...Guy's, I'm not kidding women ♡ a sweet warm vib with a hint of spicy notes against a man's body...this juice does exactly that.

When I tried Kouros (original) sometime ago at a store it didn´t work and clearly didn´t match my olfactory memories from the mid-90s. By your smell, the scent of the carefree time when neither of us knew much of the adult world or even would have been able to claim all the promises life gave us. Even after more than 40 years after the release of this monolithic perfume, I’ll easily recognize Kouros from the masses of copycats. Sure that if you try Kouros and you are a modern "male", accustomed to those sweet and cloying metrosexual scents that smells like pastry and make you look like a cream puff filled with vanilla cream and covered with cinnamon .... and well, I don't I will certainly wait for words of appreciation. I got that they are required by laws to change the composition since some ingredients are forbidden. However the forbidden ingredients have replacements that smell exactly the same. So I don't get why they didn't replaced the banned ingredients with equivalents and instead diluted Kouros so much that no one who liked the original is happy with it. If they wanted something less offensive and more modern they could have kept Kouros close to the original and make a new snowflake version Kouros Light or whatever.

The scent pyramid here is not complete - what is listed exists, but there is simply more. This actually has a lot of the notes of Vintage Kouros in a lighter, more crisp and ethereal composition. As this dries down, one will find, in a light, airy essence...the brisk musk, a dash of civet, and what is in a "fresher & more diffusive" presentation - the gorgeous base of Vintage Kouros (but, with a soft breeze infused, therefore "cleaner" and wonderfully integrated). It is rich, but not nearly as strong as the flagship, however it carries the pedigree. That is what is so amazing, so beautifuly. It shows on top and in the heart the amazing freshness and beauty, but dries down to reflect both what is listed here and the nuances and undertones of Kouros, just not as strong. Longevity is extremely good, if not excellent, for a fresh scent.
