What follows is a wonderful story of five very talented woman who supported each other, especially in this ‘me too movement’. For most of the women, they all have their own issues, not necessarily the sexual harassment, but struggling with family and financially, marriages falling apart, love, respect, and threats against them. Merriwether Jones is the CFO and highly respected but her husband is harsh over her profitable and fortunate career. The contemporary romance novel ‘Kaleidoscope’ is another of Danielle Steel’s well-loved works. Published in 1987, the book added to her long list of successful novels. The book was brought to the public eye by Delacorte Press.

High Stakes by Danielle Steel is one of my favorite of her books that I’ve read recently. I liked that she took on the #MeToo movement with a vengeance. These characters were realistic and I was drawn into this book from the very beginning. The contemporary romance novel ‘Zoya,’ penned by acclaimed author Danielle Steel, was published in 1988. This title further solidified Steel’s reputation for creating engaging and heartwarming stories. The publishing house responsible for bringing this novel to readers was Delacorte Press. Journalist Paxton Andrews witnesses the Vietnam war close-up, a journey starting from Savannah high school, extending to Berkeley college, and finally leading her to Saigon. Various soldiers she encounters undergo irrevocable transformations due to the Vietnam war. High Stakes was published in March 2022 by Pan Macmillan. I missed getting to this one when it was first released, but I’ve been making an effort to catch up on some easy reads that are well overdue for review now school holidays have commenced. High Stakes is a standard model Danielle Steel novel. It is about success, fortune, power, privilege and love. Hilary, their elder sister, haunted by their separation, foregoes personal life for a notable career. Then enters John Chapman, a lawyer tasked to find the sisters, marking the beginning of a journey from New York to Appalachia, leading up to a staggering revelation.This story has several different running storylines running throughout the entire book. The story for the most part was interesting but extremely predictable. There are some triggers within the book such as sexual harassment and rape so be aware of those triggers. A fantastical romance between a young Frenchwoman and an American actor in wartime Paris ends in tragedy, leaving their three children mysteriously separated. While Megan grows up comfortably and becomes a doctor in Appalachia, Alexandra is raised in opulence, ignorant of her adoption and her turbulent past. High Stakes is beautifully written with lots of noteable office drama that fans love! Danielle Steel is one of the reigning queens of romance and suspense. She has still got it going on in the world of great books and shows no signs of slowing down.

The story revolves around several women, not just those who have been sexually abused, but who struggle with other issues. Single parenting and financial struggles dog these women as well. In this instance it is a literary and talent agency where we hear from four different successful women. Surprisingly not all of these women are wealhty, and this is refereshing as this auhtor usually choses to write about the rich and elite.
