About this deal

When Rosmadi @Sennheiser handed over the HD 25 ALUMINIUM to me, he specifically mentioned that this is just a minor update Anniversary Edition, and that though there is an improvement gained from applying the Aluminum housing, the difference is marginal. Well that was to be expected, given the fact that everything else is the same except for the application of Aluminium for the housing material — following the footsteps of the Amperior. Based on his comment, I told him right there that I probably can’t write much about the headphone as I don’t think that there is much to be talked about and he understood and gave me the nod. However, once you start using your HD 25 for the first time and discover what you can do with your music as a result, it’s difficult to use anything else. Balanced and reliable, the Sennheiser HD25 doesn’t add any extra spice to your sound. This is perfect if you’re looking for something that’s pure, accurate, and reliable. The sound quality of the Sennheiser HD25 headphones is one of the better-known features among professionals. The unique split headband and swiveling ear cup means the Sennheiser HD 25 are ideal for DJs. Sennheiser

If you’re used to accessing consumer headphones with more warmth and bass response, then these headphones might sound a little odd at first. Be patient, you’re really getting a much more accurate response here.Today’s DJs rely on the HD25 headphones to perform in noisy environments, deliver the kind of noise cancellation you’d expect for a jet engine, and produce accurate reproductions. The HD-25 headphones have never been considered comfortable headphones for extended listening sessions. They are fine up to the 3-4 hour mark but you would want to take a break for 15 minutes or so before continuing. The main reason for this is also what makes them so good at isolating you from your external environment. That is the clamping force. The Sennheiser has a very strong clamping force that binds them tightly to your head and that combined with the on-ear earpads can cause pressure build-up. Despite being extremely affordable, HD 25 headsets offer an insanely accurate and detailed sound with a balanced response. They are balanced and flat in response meaning that they do not add any artificial flavor to your sound it is accurate and pure. If you are used to consumer headphones with enhanced bass response and warmth across the midrange then these will be quite jarring and almost lifeless sounding to you at first but it gives a far more accurate reproduction of the sound than many of the headphones you are currently able to buy. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test.

originally got these strictly for Dj'ing. Been using them for almost a year for that. Never listened to music on them really. They are great DJ headphones. With a low weight and a one-ear listening option, the HD25 headphones from Sennheiser are a must-have for most DJs and studio owners. The HD 25 headset is understated in its style. Though these headphones have been around for decades, they remain timelessly modern and simple, with a clear-cut finish. The sound is clear, loud, and reliable, so you know exactly what you’re producing at any given moment. Additionally, while the padding and comfort aren’t great, you do get a lightweight and durable design that’s difficult to beat. Sure, these iconic DJ headphones are a bit low-key than the flashing LED headsets and neon-colored cans we’ve seen elsewhere on the market. However, they look professional enough that you shouldn’t worry too much. The styling of the headphones is very understated in the modern age. It’s a good-looking headphone but is certainly not a designer headphone. It follows an ethos of form over function and to many this may seem a little boring. Another bonus of the HD 25 headphones is how easy they are to use. As with most headphones in the modern market, the better your audio source, the better your headphones are going to sound.

For those who upgrade to the 25 Plus, there’s the option to access extra cables, ear pads, and a bonus carry pouch. Build Quality Speak to almost any professional in the DJ or music studio landscape about the most iconic headphones in the industry, and you’ll hear about the Sennheiser HD25 headphones. The 70-ohm resistance does mean that you need to ensure you’re using the right source for your music.

Perhaps unsurprisingly for a set of on-ear headphones, the soundstage isn’t amazing – but it’s fine. You get a decent amount of sound depth, despite the clamping experience, and detail retrieval is ideal across the spectrum. Unlike other headphones that seem to work best with specific types of music like hip-hop or metal, the HD 25 remains true to its purpose with every genre. You may struggle a little with bass-heavy genres if you’re listening for pleasure alone. Listening options
