Rich Johnston (August 27, 2014). "DC Comics To Rush Out Gotham Central #1 In Time For The TV Show For A Dollar". BleedingCool. A story told from the perspective of one of the many corrupt police officers of Gotham City. This story features the character Poison Ivy. The artwork fits perfectly too. It’s not the hyper detailed style of modern comics. It has a noir and pulp sensibility.DEADPOOL (1997) #10-20, DEADPOOL/DEATH ANNUAL '98, HEROES FOR HIRE (1997) #10-11, BABY'S FIRST DEADPOOL BOOK and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) #47
Gotham Central Omnibus by Ed Brubaker | Goodreads
If you are a fan of Batman, this is a really must read. Again I must stress though, this is not a Batman book. But I would also say this is a must read even for non comic fans. Also if you are fans of various crime dramas like The Wire, this will be right up your street. These stories are 20 years old. They’re a period piece in a lot of ways, from the technology (especially references to the “new-fangled Internet”) to the costumes to the language. However, just like the 1940s and 50s noir they pay so much homage to, they transcend the trappings of their time period and become something else entirely: a CLASSIC.
