Simply because espresso is a small serve. Technically, there is nothing to stop you having an espresso in an ordinary mug. However, a smaller cup helps with the overall taste and serving. An espresso should have a layer of crema on the top, too. If an espresso mug is too large, this crema will spread out more which in turn means it will disappear faster. Seems after reading the review before mine I’m not the only one who has had a very costly problem with this product. I would recommend having a friend on stand by to help you out this in your hair; it’s super difficult to make sure it’s fully covered on your own. The design of the bottle also make it’s hard to squeeze without an extra set of hands. I have very fine, but dense hair and my partner and I spent over an hour making sure it was fully saturated, section by section. In the first picture you will see natural, virgin hair - dirty blonde with some natural low & highlights. The color looked good as I let it sit for 20 minutes and I was getting excited, but when I rinsed it out I was so disappointed there wasn’t much color pay off. So I tried again. And then again.
