About this deal

Just a word of warning, practically all links here are NSFW. They are also not for the faint of heart. Franken Fran ( フランケン・ふらん, Furanken Furan) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Katsuhisa Kigitsu. [4] It was serialized in Champion Red from September 2006 to February 2012 and has been compiled into 8 tankōbon volumes by Akita Shoten. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series for publication in North America. A sequel series, Franken Fran Frantic, began on February 19, 2019. Gainax Ending: Neither the last chapter or the ending itself have any build-up or lead-in, and its kinda hard to tell what actually happened in the end. There's also the assholes who gangraped and killed Miyake from Chapter 59, killed by a deadly bacteria that was inoculated in her body by Fran. Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue to both Veronica and Gavril, though not so much to Veronica. And then she manages to establish this dynamic with herself in "Left and Right" when she ends up as two Frans, with one being aggressive, greedy and rude, but logical, while the other is much more passive, gentle and kind, but so altruistic that other people can easily push her into doing what they want.

The Atoner: In chapter 52, the cardinal that is candidate to be the next Pope used to be a mafia lord. After he was mortally wounded in the head and recovered by a surgery, he decided to pay for his sins by devoting the rest of his life to the church.Fran believes that a life should be saved no matter the cost, and keep that in mind, since the results of her surgeries are rarely (if ever) pretty. The ending of chapter 43, where a rich girl's uncle who formerly came to Fran for a brain transplant ended up sharing a body with her due to an "incomplete" operation. When a bomb goes off in her house and several people who were after the inheritance she received were killed, the uncle has his own brain put in the girl's old body while he made Fran put the girl's brain into a clone of her. The other people who got killed ended up sharing the old body along with him, as was the uncle's wishes (the body can't move unless all the minds sharing it agree on it, and he refuses every time just to spite them), just so that the girl could live freely. Hollywood Exorcism: Chapter 52 has a cardinal being possessed by a demon and the Vatican exorcist troops doing everything they can for him. He's faking it so he can't become pope — he was a gangster and if his enemies found him they could hurt his friends. This being Franken Fran there's also the fact that he's got a fully developed infant in his skull thanks to an untested stem cell treatment.

She only wants the best for humanity and is easily swayed by sob stories. However, she is also the direct cause of many plagues on humanity, revealed to us Once an Episode. Knight Templar: Veronica. She was built to defend her target by killing any threat. The problem, as later chapters are making clear, is that her definition of "threat" is rather lower than it should be. Chapter 25 opens with her killing people for coming near Fran's mansion, and she's pulled her weapons for people just teasing Fran. In general, Veronica's feelings her Fran are sometimes framed in this light. The final bonus chapter of the original run even lampshades this by having the interviewer directly ask Veronica about her rumored attraction to Fran. In a small blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, she remarks that she doesn't plan on living to old age and was asking Amatsuka if he'll outlive her. Judging by Amatsuka's response, even if she outlives him, it wouldn't be that much longer. Note that Amatsuka is an old man who lived through World War 2.Tomato in the Mirror: Whenever Fran needed clones for anything, she usually comes to Kuhou for the necessary "genetics". Due to her method of cloning (which was Cell Mitosis done on a full human being), the implication is that Kuhou seen in subsequent chapters isn't technically the same girl that Madaraki keeps kidnapping off the streets. Given Fran's loose moral ethic, she sees no problem in this. Girls Love Stuffed Animals: From what little we've seen of her room, we can at least tell she has quite a few stuffed animals. Fran herself, usually. Then you see what monstrosities she has released upon the world, and occasionally see her at her most callous moments.

In Franken Fran Frantic, it is implied that Gavrill had been going to Dr. Amatsuka for her body tunings due to her legitimately caring for his company and well-being, despite her vulgar and insulting language towards him. Fate Worse Than Death: If the villain of the chapter doesn't end up outright killed, they'll usually end up with one of these — either courtesy of Fran's dedication to saving life no matter what, or her questionable medical ethics.Mix And Match Person: She seems to be the conglomeration of several different individuals. This is pretty obvious considering her skin looks like a jigsaw puzzle. In Frantic, she employs this by shrinking down to the size of a 10 year old, still retaining her stitches. She always uses this to get her opponent to drop their guard so she can get close enough to butcher them. Alternate Character Interpretation: In-universe, people tend to have wildly different opinions on him. The general public (at least, those who know about him) tend to regard him with fear and awe, Fran completely idolizes him, and Gavrill loathes him. In Chapter 51, the fourth Sentinel is given this instead of the usual superpowers so Sentinel III can claim vengeance for him again and again.

The main protagonist of the manga, Fran lives at the Madaraki estate. Though she is often mistaken for Naomitsu Madaraki's daughter, she is actually his greatest "masterpiece." She is fitted with two sizable bolts upon her temples and marred with faint stitches, giving her a distinctly inhuman appearance. She has a unique view of morality, finding certain cases emotionally-moving and experimenting out of the goodness of her heart. Obliviously Evil: Doesn't seem to be aware of the horror she constantly causes with her work. Nor does she seem to care that much when she does realize it, though this is mostly because she thinks that no matter how shitty a life can get, it's still better than death. Eldritch Abomination: The brain eating/mind absorbing Flying Spaghetti Monster "god" that Fran helped create in chapter 26.

Resources

Action Girl: Despite the series not really revolving on action/adventure, Veronica is sort of this depending of the situation. Chapter 46 for instance shows her doing spy stuff to steal an anti-fat medicine for Fran from a company that refused to let Fran use it to help a morbidly obese girl.
