About this deal

The covers for all BBC Blu-ray releases include Doctor Who Blu-ray covers, SJA Blu-ray covers and Torchwood Blu-ray covers. Once again there are number of Doctor Who companions watching the episodes of Season 2. Appropriately, we have Carol Ann Ford, Maureen O’Brien and Peter Purves telling their stories and providing opinions on stories that they were not involved in. Offering alternative opinions are Janet Fielding, Wendy Padbury and Sarah Sutton, who have a wonderful dynamic together. Also watching are Bonnie Langford and Sophie Aldred with everyone largely positive and thoroughly enjoying the experience. It’s a shame there isn’t a Behind the Sofa episode for The Crusade, because I think it’s wonderful but it isn’t complete. Why there isn’t one for Planet of Giants I’m not so sure. In July 2023, following the release of Genesis of the Daleks, Pandastorm Pictures announced that they were suspending planned releases of Revelation of the Daleks ( Planet of the Dead) and Time and the Rani ( Terror on Lakertya) due to financial difficulties and changes in the DVD market.Doctor Who fans can expect plenty of fun and games in the next animation, thanks to The Celestial Toymaker. Hart, however, did want some sort of anniversary special in November, so he suggested that JN-T put the money for two of the 28 episodes aside to allow for the special. This, of course, meant that there would now be 26 episodes in season 20. In the end, however, the final four episodes — meant to go towards a Dalek adventure that eventually became season 21's Resurrection of the Daleks — were left on the table because of a union dispute. Thus, as transmitted, season 20 consisted of just 22 episodes.

I have wondered if it would’ve been good to do individual special editions of stories to give them things like updated effects a few years before their season comes out on blu-ray so that when they work on the relevant box set, they can distribute their money across other features. I’d like the rumours that An Unearthly Child is getting a colourisation to be true. I mean, a colourised AUC would be a perfect release for the 60th anniversary, and an opportunity to give it new extra content that could be ported over to the eventual Season 1 box set. While The Beginning box set was the first one so they didn’t have much money to spread across all three DVDs, it is a bit of a shame that AUC and The Daleks are so scarse in extra content for how important they are, and Edge of Destruction doesn’t have a commentary. OK, bit of a ramble but my point is, when the earlier seasons have more problems with remastering, it does make me think individual releases beforehand with new content would be a benefit.

Another example is Season 12 – the replacement programme is eiffy as best for multiple reasons that are too lengthy to get into. Therefore, you would also have to buy the standard edition to get the repaired content. This is one of the reasons why I shouldn’t have said anything in the first place about episodes being in private collections.

And if the mistake is bigger than a spelling error then I’m sure they would do another free disc replacement service againDoctor Who has been released on BD since 2009. Planet of the Dead was the first Doctor Who episode to be produced and broadcast in HD, and thus it became the first Doctor Who BD release. The entirety of BBC Wales-era Doctor Who has since been made available on Blu-ray, with the first four series upscaled from their original standard definition masters. Another version was also released (BBCBD0226), containing five exclusive art cards. In the UK, all versions included a redeemable Ultraviolet copy of the first five episodes of the series. Blu-ray releases of Doctor Who and its spin-off shows are managed internationally by a variety of distributors under licence from the BBC. While for the most part, releases of modern-era stories have typically mirrored those of the English releases, there are some exceptions. In contrast, classic-era stories have had very limited release outside of the English-speaking regions.

Going by what I heard his father was quite abusive towards him so I feel it’s a bit more complex than him simply cashing in on his father. There is father son issues here and I don’t feel 100 percent comfortable heading here. The Collection - Season 8 (BBCBD0564) and Season 24 (BBCBD0520) were re-released in 2022 and 2023 respectively, with standard Blu-ray cases. The other related incident was an agent learning from online blabbermouths that one of their client’s works was being readied for release before they’d been officially told. The result delayed the release of a 4th Doctor story and helped lead to the increased secrecy restrictions.Including Australian interviews with Peter Davison and Janet Fielding shot during production of this season.
